Are black slacks and a nice blouse suitable?

I love it it looks cute. Everytime I go to a wedding there are a bunch of girls wearing black dresses. Or girls like myself who always opt for the black pants. Be different.

not really. Why are you limiting your choices so much? The first one looks like something your gran would wear, the second one looks like you are going out to a club with your boyfriend. And no, slacks and a blouse are not acceptable.
You need to find a generic "party" dress - something nice and simple is fine, but appropriate for a wedding. Perhaps you need a friend's help to choose...

Nope, go for something just a little more formal. If it is an outdoor wedding (which I doubt-then yes, wear it). Something like a casual formal is what you're going for, this is business chic, you've got style don't get me wrong and I like the dress. But since you have style I know you can do better. Also take into consideration it will be evening wear.

Is the wedding expected to be a bit more casual...perhaps a small wedding at someone's home? Then it would be appropriate. However, it is too casual for church and for any reception past the dinner hour.

Yes, these days you can wear just about anything but this is nicely styled and a suitable length to cover both.

umm...sorry but ewww...not unless your in your 50's and are colour blind.

the macy's dress is nice. I really like that. its not too sexy. its something I would wear to a wedding. the other dress looks like something grandma would wear on her way into the old folks home. definitely the Macy's dress.

I think that it is the perfect thing to wear to wedding. And even better to wear to a wedding reception.

.Not a good dress at all to wear to a weeding, looks more like something you would wear to a funeral.
