you got 2 options on my opinion
a or she is to shy to say that she doesnt like you that way but doesnt want to brake your heart...
b her friend likes you and she doesnt want you 2 guys together, so she is playing with both of you...

my suggestion, speak clear to her, tell her what her friend said to you and ask her for the true.

What she doesn't want is to hurt your feelings. She's probably being more honest with her friend. She may change her mind if you ask again once shes about over her Ex.
