my son and myself suffered from eczema. it is a common allergic reaction. avoid dairy for a week or two and see what happens, it is a common allergen. i would suggest getting an allergy test, because it is easier than going through all the common allergens.

those creams that can be prescribed by your doctor can get quite poisonous because your skin will become accustomed and need a stronger and stronger dose. before you know it your at your maximum strength (to avoid liver damage) and the eczema is just as bad. good luck i used the creams for many years, until i discovered that i was allergic to some foods.

now my son and i are free and clear of eczema!!!

You can use cortisone lotion to help with the redness and itching, but what will help alot is to use hypo-allergenic soaps, laundry detergent and so on.....such as dove for sensitive skin, cetaphile, aveno, cera-ve(all have hydrating cleansers). But a good rule is as soon as you come out of the bath/shower, pat dry (leaving some water beads on the skin) apply a cream (thicker than a lotion) on the entire body....if it still does not work try to use lactic acid for a week or to in place of a cream then return to using the cream....and always remember to apply cream 3-6 times a day...do not let you skin get dry...

My little brother has exama. You need to use lotion everyday. Use lotion without perfume because the perfume can make it worse. You should also ask a docor about this. Or if it gets worse, go to a dermatologist. You can get perscriptions to help the exama lighten up.

They have great creams for that today. See your doctor, or ask a pharmacists, they will be able to recommend a good cream.
