Constipation
Laxatives that soften or add bulk to the bowel contents (e.g. psyllium husk) or stool softners (eg. docusate) are the safest to take while breastfeeding. If you require a stronger laxative, your doctor or pharmacist will advise you on the most suitable preparation to use. It is best to avoid large doses of senna or bisacodyl as these products can pass into the breast milk and cause diarrhoea in the baby.

I am 17 and I do breast feed, it is very easy and amazing... How does breastfeeding benefit the mother? Eat more and lose weight faster: A breastfeeding mother needs 500 extra calories a day because the body burns that amount while breastfeeding. She'll be back in her pre-pregnancy shape quickly. It's easy and convenient: There's nothing to buy or prepare so it gives the mother much more freedom. Breasts are always there and the milk is always warm and ready. The mother can snooze during night feedings There's a very special bond between Mother and Baby and it's the natural way to feed There's less spitting up, no stains and the poop doesn't smell! Protects against some breast and ovarian cancers: While breastfeeding, estrogen levels are very low. Research has shown that the longer you breastfeed, the risks for these cancers goes down MAY delay menstrual period: Again, estrogen levels are low and many women think they're well protected from conceiving, but ovulation may still occur It's an amazing confidence booster: Mothers are really able to use their natural ability Believe it or not, there is very little embarrassment: It's easy to nurse discreetly and modestly Feels awesome How does breastfeeding benefit the baby? Protects against ear infections, colds, and viruses: If the child does have any of the above, the severity will most likely be lessened because of the protection from the breastmilk Helps brain to grow and develop Less learning and behavior difficulties Less diaper rash and other skin problems Less colic, less crying Easy to digest: It is almost impossible to have a constipated breastfed baby! Less diarrhea Protects against Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, leukemia, some childhood cancers, and juvenile-onset diabetes Benefits heart health Fewer trips to the doctor and hospitalizations Babies LOVE the taste

If you are breastfeeding and taking medication, you might be worried about the drugs passing onto your baby through your breast milk. In general, when a breastfeeding mother is taking medication, the amount passed on to the infant is smaller than the amount an infant will receive during pregnancy. Laxatives that soften or add bulk to the bowel contents (e.g. psyllium husk) or stool softeners (eg. docusate) are the safest to take while breastfeeding. If you require a stronger laxative, your doctor or pharmacist will advise you on the most suitable preparation to use. It is best to avoid large doses of senna or bisacodyl as these products can pass into the breast milk and cause diarrhea. Good luck!!

I've read several sites where it says that bulk forming types are OK. Here is a good summary and suggestion if you care to read from the source listed below.
"Most laxatives, particularly dietary fiber/bulk forming laxatives and stool softeners, are considered compatible with breastfeeding. The stimulant laxatives are more likely to be of concern, and should never be used long-term (whether you are breastfeeding or not).
Drug-free alternatives for treating constipation include:
Eat a high fiber diet - whole grains, 5+ servings of fruit/vegetables each day
Drink plenty of fluids
Don’t put off the "urge" to go "

Always double check with your doctor. But, yes laxative is normally ok to take while breast feeding. But, please call your OBGYN or nurse whomever you are in contact regarding your post natal issues.
