or under the grill, and it used to shrink into a mini crisp back and go hard so you could make it into a key ring. Does anyone remember doing this and can you still do this without setting fire to the house?

The problem with doing this with an oven is loss of moisture. The rice will tend to dry out the longer it is in the oven. What you might do is poach the calzone, which means putting it in aluminum foil with some water. The water boils and keeps the calzone from drying out. This is a very common way to poach fish, with butter rather than water, on a grill top... I do this with salmon frequently. You basically make a bag out of aluminum foil that is loosely sealed and is elevated off the food on top and sides. Put the aluminum bag onto a cookie sheet or other baking pan to provide support over that provided by an oven shelf. Add some herbs and garlic and other seasonings to the bag to enhance overall flavor.

Well an interesting way of recycling but a bit weird. What made you try in the first place?

I am not sure that I would want to try it though, so, I am sorry, I cannot help you!

No ... they are now made of biodegradable plastic foil.

You also used to be able to melt down tin cans on a brick in a fire, and make little ingots from the depression in the brick. you can't do that now, either.

You used to be able to buy golden Wonder crisps as well

And Marmite was given away free at baby clinics

Where have the good years gone?
