I think it would be a good idea, as long as it is not used to monitor their every move. It would be good if the police station or something could bring up their location if they ever turned up missing.
An important thing, though, would be an option to easily remove it in adult-hood. Otherwise, this would be an invasion of privacy and could easily be abused (such as, someone at the police station stalking someone, etc)

You can keep all the eyes of the world on a child.Quite naturally
they could still get lost.Maybe we should brands them with
an iron when they are born.Because this is only a "modern step above it" But if you mean something completely and totally harmless put in the hospital at the very time of birth and before they go to the nursery that still may not prove anything if there actually was a conspiracy to kidnap your child. But that perfectly harmless dog tag would have to be removed by atleast the age of five.We do this to animals and criminals.NOT CHILDREN!

I do not think so!!
Bad enough we do not have privacy as we once did have. Then they want to implant chips into our body...Start with children, children grow up. What a better way to track and keep control on the population....we already have the SS# in place. With this number you can find out anything you want to know about another, why make it even easier with a micro chip. We also have chips in our cars these days where all they have to do is activate this and keep track of where you are in your vehicle, claiming of course it is for if you break down or need your car started for you, or get locked out they can unlock it for you.....people have to put there foot down somewhere....

I think it would be good, not for spying on my child, but in the case of a child being lost or getting kid-napped. I also hear there is a device you can slip into a child's shoe or back-pack that would allow you or the police to track your child, that might be better than putting a foreign thing into your child's body.

Yes I would. I worry a lot about predators and this would make it so I would always be able to find him if the worst were to happen. Of course, a bonus would be for them to remove the chip when they are 18. That would be nice.

I really don't think that you need to implant a chip into your child! I mean, you should have enough trust in them to believe where they are. If you don't trust them that much, then buy them one of those Disney cell phones that tracks where they are (or at least where there phone is). I think that would be better than implanting a chip inside your child.

As I consider the possibility of implanting my child with any type of tracking device, my immediate outlook pertains to their safety, not so much "spying" on them as if they were up to no good.
I have three daughters, and the news media is constantly mentioning missing girls, raped girls, and/or worse.
What about these girls that are abducted and kept prisoners? Did you read about that girl in Austria (?) that was kept for nine years before she finally ran away -- that whole family is ruined in many ways.

You know in the bible (new testament) which talks about the number 666? It is either a mark on the hand or the head. It is probably the microchip to keep track (like a social security number) consisting of actually 18 numbers.
(666666-666666-666666) This is used so the government (or, anti-christ) can keep tabs on all of us. Don't be suckered in with the notion that it is just to keep our children from being kidnapped.

The world is not as safe as it once was. I can't even let my kids go in the backyard alone for fear that someone will take them or something would happen to them... I think i would but just as a precaution if they were taken i mean i would probably do it for my grandma who can't get on all that well and lives alone but that is just my opinion!

Very interesting! i have 4 children of my own, and i think i think the idea is great, but i think it should be done at birth. I also think that alot of long term research should go into it. This will draw up alot of mixed thoughts for sure, but hey, too many children go missing nowadays!
