I have trouble opening up. But want some help. I'm not sure how I could be helped, maybe I just need some drugs to lift me up. Feeling lonely, stressed... I just hide all my feelings, and then by the next day I've usually forgotten them and start over again. I don't feel I have the strength to help myself. I'm not motivated to exercise, to study, or to phone the GP. I'll probably be able to put a new "facias" on for school when term starts, but I might still feel this bad. I have a history of depression and I don't know if it's just my personality that puts me in this position. Can I pull myself together? (I'm in Scotland btw)

Yeah, I know what you're saying bud. I had a case of depression in 2005 after I graduated from high school and could not go to college due to health issues. Well, if you think you need a psychiatrist, why not give it a shot. I mean, they are trained to help you open up. That's their job. I didn't have the money for that sort of thing so began writing in a journal. It felt as if I was talking to someone and venting. Another fun way to vent is to open up a new word document on the computer and just type away. Feelings begin leaking out and many things come to the surface. If human ears is what you want, talk to a family member or close friend. The longer your feelings stay shut up inside you, the stronger they will build and eventually will destroy your character. Don't let that happen. It is not healthy to hide your feelings until they go away and you forget about them. They need to be expressed and dealt with. Good luck!!! From one who got help to one who needs help.

You know something here? You think all is lost but you have actually found the strength to put down on this site exactly how you are feeling and actually asking for help. And you know something else? Imagine a dripping tap in your bathroom ... it will drip ad infinitum until someone comes along and repairs it ... we call that intervention ... now you can do the repair yourself ... or if you are limited by experience or motivation ... then get someone to repair it for you. That means ... GO TO YOUR DOCTOR ..... even a chat with the practice nurse can do wonders. Your personality is still developing ... please don't let it develop into something dark and grey .... go seek help .... get some simple counselling ... be aware of someone who can be on your side ..... just reach out and take what is on offer.

Believe me, you can put this all right .... you know what you want, don't you, so recovery is perfectly possible. And if drugs help for a short while ... take them ... they won't harm or hurt you in this case .... and one day, you will be smiling again and wondering what all the fuss was about. Good luck in your recovery ..... :-)

I should take my own advice, I try going like once every five years, don't go for a second appointment and don't take meds that are prescribed... but, I suggest you start by calling some therapists and sort of interview them on the phone. Tell them you are aprehensive and what your concerns are. Eventually you'll find someone who seems like you can click with and you should make an appointment to see them. It can be a long process, just let them know they need to take the lead and help you out of your shell.

When you first go they're not expecting anything deep. Basically they just want to know how you feel . . . why are you there? are you eating? stressed? anxious? working? depressed? etc

Psychiatrists are not really big on the therapy side . . . that's a psychologist. You reveal as much or as little as you want.

On the other hand, if you don't want to go to the doctor I suggest reading some uplifting inspirational books. Helps you keep your perspective . . .good luck!

I have problems opening up too and it has taken me awhile to open up to most of the docs I have had. The one I have right now listens well and also listens to what I am not saying. Its kinda like she can figure me out pretty quickly and that is what I need. What I did to find her was I went to the emergency room one night because things got bad and I was referred to her. I hope you dont have to go to those lengths but it is cruicial to have support when you are stressing out. I know its hard but the sooner you get out there or on the phone you can get that help.

What I hear you asserting is that something exceeded off and you're having flashbacks. meaning that particular neurons on your worrying equipment are over-energetic. that's what's inflicting you to have flashbacks. not the form. The worrying equipment is inspired via chemical compounds in the atmosphere and in nutrition. some cases all it takes is a metamorphosis in some products to sense greater efficient. Ask your mom in case you may change to here products. this would help with concentration and different situations. It treats a concern noted as chemical intolerance. I could try this nutrition plan myself too. Ask your mom to purchase Tide-unfastened unscented laundry detergent - wash all bedding and outfits in the unscented detergent. Use no fabric softener. Use in easy terms Palmolive dish detergent for in the sink and dilute it and positioned it in a sprig bottle for widespread objective cleansing. Use Palmolive to even wash the flooring. purchase some finished organic and organic milk. some human beings can not tolerate the bovine hormones in usual milk. change to organic and organic finished milk. in case you do not sense greater efficient after changing to the Tide-fee detergent and finished organic and organic milk, pass to an entire organic and organic nutrition plan with spring water. an entire organic and organic nutrition plan is one with nutrition that has no non-organic and organic aspects. examine all nutrition labels. Use in easy terms Aleve nexproxen (non-gelcaps) or regularly occurring. do not use Fabreez. it truly is created from non-oganic corn. This technique will make you fell greater efficient and stop your flashbacks, yet stick to it to the letter not each and every physique can consume all meals. those with chemical intolerance can not. whilst they do, they might sense such as you do. all of us else gave you one sort of advice. So i desperate to furnish you something else to do which will help you if your mom will help you with this. stable success to you. desire you sense greater efficient quickly.

Opening results in pain, there's no avoiding this. Pema Chodron talks about this in her book The Places That Scare You... she is a Buddhist nun.
