there is a condition that is part of the anxiety disorders. that results in a person pulling out there hair . sometimes afterward doing some other thing with it.
do you have trouble making decisions like in a line at the restaurant do you find that there is not time enough to think what to get. this is a theme are you a person that has a very hard time parting with money that is looking at the product a and the other version b and maybe one more from some other company
problems with money being known by friends as a person that is a tight wad. or just knowing that in the restaurant you not only cant think what to eat you are having in made harder because you are really putting lots of thought into how much this one would cost and this other one and so on,
if you think this all sounds like some of the stuff you do then
i suggest you see a doctor and discuss this matter.
this has nothing to do with intelligence or success it is an anxiety disorder that falls into the sub cat as ocd it has futher more specific differances .
this is a problem that men and women have .
often a person will pull out eyebrow hair and eat it .
the hair involved is only on the head or face and this matter of lack of discision making ability along with the real odd sort of behaviour with money not always just not being able to spend but sometimes it can be arranging the bills and so on .
if you think that is you then just talk to doc and this matter can be helped not taken right away but made less troublesome.
you may not know this but along with this comes a sad frequent stat. and that is that most if not all have been abused or seen abuse as a child. you may not have any memory of that so dont rule all this out because you dont think that ever happen.
this person called two plus three that answered has given you the actual name of the condtion . i was not going to do that as i thought i would be better coming from a doctor but this is the web and its all here.

Hi you have a problem called "trichatillamania". It's more common than you think. I also have it and so does my friend. You get the urge to pull it out and you can't help it. Some people chew on the end of the roots also. Honestly unless you find a therapist whos had it themself or just anyone whos had it, you wont get help. you have to find someone to talk to who knows how you feel. I think the problem gets better with age and eventually the hair will grow back. for now just wear headbands, pony tails, or side parts to hide your bald spots. Good luck.

When I am Stressed or feel overwhelmed I still pull at my hair! I never really new why or what caused it for me to do this to myself. I know I have heard its a condition to where when your life or certain things to bother you then you use this as a stress reliever to help you cope with a problem. I wish i could find help with that problem too but its very embassing to discuss this stress problem. I know I pay closier attention when I catch myself doing it. I try to think of sometrhing else. i hope this helps you! Good luck!

I do the same thing. I even went as far as shaving all my hair off for a year thinking it would help me to stop. Well, it did not. It is a nervous disorder called trichotillomania.
Some people will even pull out their eye lashes.
You should talk to a doctor.

You are not the only person you pulls their hair. You should see a doctor, they could get you a prescription for medication to treat your condition. I can't spell it but the disease is named trici .. and some more letters to end the word. I hope everything works out for the good.

You need a therapist. This is a recognised problem and not as uncommon as you would think. I used to do it when I was a lot younger and had about 10 therapy sessions to help me break the habit. It wasnt easy and sometimes in moments of stress I can revert to it, but not for long. Its worth getting it sorted for your peace of mind;

go to the dr and they can give you something (pills) so you are less likely to get nervous and pull it out. also you can really take care of yourself by concentrating on exercise and conditioning your hair. that will help. i have a customer that used to pull her hair out. now her hair won't grow in places.
