no, I have none.
I do, however, fear the religious delusions of others.

Seems like there are a couple of questions going on here.... first, am I afraid of my religion? and second, am I afraid of the "official" of that religion in my locale?
I would have to say that I REVERE God, which is a pretty close word, linguistically, to FEAR-- however, for me, the meaning is quite different. When I see "the fear of the Lord" I think in terms of "reverence for the Lord"-- and see it more as a huge awe-struck almost incomprehensible feeling of wonder. I don't fear my Pastor-- he's a sweet young family man who came into the faith as an adult and he is very respectful and caring of people in the church we attend.... he is kind and doesn't talk about anyone behind their back and he is soft-spoken and loves Jesus. He preaches hope and against the conventional view of punishment by Hell fire.
God bless you for asking this interesting question!

I used to be very afraid of my religion - my mother used to drum the fear of god into me by saying things like "you should stop being so cheeky and rude and do what she says or you are going to burn in hell."
When I grew up, I did some reading to find the truth and discovered she was just giving me a whole lot of BS, so I changed my religion. Now I dont feel scared anymore.

An observant question. I expect you will receive a host of very similar responses, as religious conditioning produces undue respect for authority and a powerful reluctance to criticise any form of cleric, or any of their crimes. Fear is possibly not the correct description, it is closer to a flock mentality, a fear of breaking rank, letting down your Deity/Gods or Goddesses, an instilled fear of treachery towards fictional beings.

No. Quite the cocntrary, they fill my head with a desire to do well and live a good life o that I will be worthy of the blessings God has in store for me. It gives me hope that even though I am a sinner I can be forgiven and taken back into the fold.

no. i mean i respect them so maybe i'm reserved a little bit around them. but you should have a fear of the Lord. To have such respect for God and to know the powers that he has should strike fear in you.

Why should I be afraid. God loves everyone.
I Cr 13;8a
In Christianity the commandment is to fear not. Respect and love God. Show Him Reverential Fear but not to be afraid, no.

No! Until I became Buddhist, I never knew a religion could make me feel so comfortable, happy and complete as a person. When I was Catholic however I always felt judged, sinful and fearful of a wrathful God. So glad I converted!

Religion is for those naturally inclined to fear and be submissive. I am not religious. I stand up and face reality. Religious people should try it.

NO not afraid of my belief in my faith... I don't allow any man to put me in a position of "fear". I fear God the Father, not mere man. Fear of God is showing God respect for who He is... not fear Him in the way you would be afraid of a person here today.
Any "religion" that does this... get out of it asap.
