he is 14 and his hair is just above his shoulders at the back and chin length at the sides
he has noticed other boys with longer curly styles that get the attention of girls at his school

sure...I'm thinking that if he's older, hes wondering what it would look like before committing to a perm (yep...guys still get 'em)

If he's younger, it could be gender exploration, or could be he just wants to spend some time with Mom where you pretty well HAVE to be paying attention (not saying you don't pay attention...but sometimes we all get distracted...)

At any rate, no harm done...

NO, not necessarily. If he is 4 / 5 ok. If he is 10 / 12, then why? Maybe he needs the influence of a man in his life doing "man" things, the car races, football, wrestling matches, hunting, eating wild game. Something to set him on the straight and narrow. Good Luck.

my brother's friend Ivan is 12 and he tried the same thing last year. But he really skates, and he's good at it.

Skater is in, so my brother says and supposedly a bunch of guys in his grade all of the sudden dress like him and his friends, and they (bro and co.) get mad at the posers growing long hair and wearing skateboarding brand tees.

Anyway Ivan tried it, and it curled under and looked really bad, so he's never done it since. But his other friend Travis has naturally curly hair and he's so cute.

depends on how old ur son is? if he is only like 4 or 5 then sure I guess it would be okay. Now if he is like 12 or older then I'd say or wonder whats up! Courosity is one thing but if he is trying the whole female thing then I would ask him whats up? nothing wrong with it but maybe he is going thru an identity crisis or exploreing other avenues.

It's no big deal my now 17 year old used to like to get his hair curled. He is perfectly fine and dandy and a normal teenager. Don't worry about it!

yes.
he wants to see what he will look like. lol
don't worry... my son is 31 happily married with 2 daughters.
he wanted to see what he would look like with curly hair when he was 10....now He is wearing it bald...oh well!
sure let him see. If he likes it give him a perm. long curly hair is in again....as long as its clean....at least that's what my dad told my brothers in the 70's....

I don't see the big problem. My brother wanted my Mom to give him a perm and she did. He liked the style for a little while, got tired of it and moved on!

Depends on what kind of curls he wants, either that or a curling iron. It's the look!

no, it won't look natural his hair will stand out too far from his head. take him to a salon and let him get a loose perm. he can the n wash his hair and let it dry on its own
