My Mom and my friend's moms always used to say it and now my wife also says it. But what would make the meat worse if I reheated say a third time?

There are two reasons not to re-heat meat:

1. Bacterial growth. The longer meat is laying around, even in a refrigorator, the more stuff will fester.

2. Major nutrient loss. Every time food is reheated, nutrients are cooked out. This is why pre-made foods are always less healthy than foods you make yourself.

If you are just re-heating and not cooking it through, it won't be hot enough to kill the bacteria. Also, reheating more than once would make it over-cooked and taste bad. It would be tough and dry. Can't imagine why you would want to do that.

I don't eat the stuff anymore, but when I did, it was heated numerous times. I'm still here.
