A Lie that tries to convert men into following guidelines using a higher power to incorporate the LAW.

There was no law regarding that back then. It was common for women to marry at the age of 9 and have children as soon as they were able. The laws were not passed until MUCH later.

Mary did not have sex with God, so what are you talking about?

There aren't any nationwide guidelines contained in the U. S.. The age of consent varies by state, from 16 (maximum) to 19. Many states also enable diverse exemptions for minors 'close in age'. in truth, a 15 year previous with an 18 year previous might want to be legal in some states.

It's usually a mistake to use legal or logical reasoning when dealing with what many believe to be divine beings or occurrences. A believer in God will often believe that God can suspend natural laws and is not bound by human laws. The believer would rarely make a comparison between them self and the Creator of the universe.

She was legal by the standards -admittedly, LOW standards- of the time... And yes, Joseph would be labled a 'pedophile' if he was alive today and did the same thing; likewise with Mohammed and other folks of that time. To me, yet another proof that the Bible didn't come from God; either that, or we should repeal the statuatory rape laws, because the Biblical God saw nothing wrong with child marriage (probably because "His" thoughts were actually the thoughts of whatever men wrote "His" books!!!)

I am NOT Christian (actually think I may be Atheist), so don't think I'm coming from there. But, Mary wasn't raped. She didn't actually HAVE sex and it wasn't forced on her. She was the VIRGIN mother. She was asked permission before becoming pregnant with Jesus, and she said something to the effect of "If it's God's will, then so be it." But, I do agree that, had she said no, he probably would have done it anyway. God will do what he will do, he's all powerful, right?

Ever hear of bat-mitzvah? She was 12 or more years old according to their tradition of the time and was a young woman. You are a non-believer and are trying to apply logic to an act of faith. Mary was a willing vessel if you read the scripture in Luke and was full of grace.

Saddam Hussein cannot be compared to anything except a mass murderer who slaughtered his own people. and deserved the death penalty for human rights abuses. He was one of the riders found in Revelation 3 on the pale horse, bringing Death and Hell with him.

You cannot compare Christianity to Islam, they are diametrically opposed. From what you are saying you are Practicing religion whether you believe in it or not..religion is defined as any set of beliefs. It explains your anger at the mention of it. You deify yourself and believe nothing else.

First, you assume that she was not 18 which is pure speculation, there is no evidence saying as such.

She was married. In the first century b.c Jewish society being pledged to be married and married was the same thing, they did not have a concept of engagement, they considered two people officially "married" after consummation which would have been the night she was impregnated.

She did consent.
Luke 1:38 "I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered. "May it be to me as you have said." Then the angel left her.

My. My.
From a very small premise, you make a huge jump ....at least you try to.
Luke 1:38 records Mary's acceptance.
She was not under age since (as you surely know) she was engaged to Joseph.
If you were God and had to produce a perfect being from imperfect beings, how would you do better?
Your bias seems to come first and your logic second.

Fellow Roman Subject: Please remember to read the last edict by our emperor regarding this topic. For Caesar's sake, don't you know our glorious leader is a god? Please pay more attention or the centurians may decide to make an example of you. Caesar's word, after all, IS law, and, of course, his will is imposed by the sword. This is the last time I dare warn you lest I be implicated in such heresy.
