Well China is officially communist (officially only, they're seriously capitalist though.) which rules all other belief systems out. China is making mega money from the formula they are using right now -- having everyone working for the government. The government in turn does business with everyone including nations that nobody wants to touch like N. Korea. Now just imagine that all those workers suddenly find Jesus or something and takes their minds off working... not good for the economy is it?

But I still think its excellent. Before the commies the Chinese were a brilliant people with a great civilization. First came the commies and if that wasn't bad enough the Christians want a piece too. Nah, they gotta fight them bible bashers off! Same goes or Japan!

China isn't atheist. There may be some chinese who are, but many study taoism and buddhism. There are also many christian chinese. This question sounds like an attempt to make people of chinese heritage upset, just by looking at what you capitalized. People have practiced their chosen religion, regardless of the penalties, for years. I doubt a government getting "tougher" on it's citizens is much of a deterrent.

As for christians taking over, I don't think that's really a valid possibility. There are so many diverse and multicultural spiritual paths out there and people seem to be going off the beaten path of christianity quite a bit.

I respect the path of atheism, as long as it's not an angry, vengeful path. If you want to be atheist, that's great. Just don't expect that the rest of us are a flock of sheep going with the herd.

... Actually they've gotten more lenient overall in recent years, when Mao was still in power, THEN they were being tough.... But how the hell can you say they're doing the right thing for imprisoning people for practicing as they so chose?... This is the same People's Republic of China that has killed millions and destroyed many a building in their quest for atheism.

I may not believe in what a lot of Christianity has to say, but there's no justifying the PRoC's actions. Any christians trying to "take over" are simply trying to avoid being persecuted and controlled, the current chinese government does allow religions, only so long as those religions believe and do exactly what a government agency says they can believe and do... THAT is messed up.

Don't be surprised. There are one billion + souls in China. There are plenty there who are heaven bound and growing. Don't be surpised if there are Christians in every country. Yes the entire world will hear the gospel. And no the government of China is athiest, but believe me I bet that even there, there are secret believers.

I heard there are three phrases you can't say on the Chinese internet, 1. Democracy, 2. Human Rights, and I forget what the other one is, if you do, the men will soon come and take, you, your computer, and who knows what else away. Whats up with that? Does anyone know what Chinese Democracy is all about?

So is America-trying to free the people from THE RELIGIOUS RIGHT! Which is WRONG! China is way older than the U.S. and has been governing their people through many different dynasties-they may not be right-but at least they are not trying to force their people to establish a MONARCHY which is what Jesus and his kingdumb are which is what America escaped from In The beginning....Best worry about YOUR problems here before you try to solve CHINA's!

China, as a Communist nation, is officially atheist. The Chinese government is hostile to all religions. Remember Falun Gong?

Christians aren't trying to take over China. It's the Chinese Christians who are being put in gaol (jail for Americans),being clubbed, electrocuted with cattle prods, whipped, tortured by bamboo sticks and needles shoved underneath their nail and eventually put to death. All for believing in Jesus.I seriously doubt you would be okay with it if you were experiencing those things simply because you were an atheist.
