Get a dog from your local ASPCA. Cloning costs about $300,000. Also be aware that it would still have to grow up and whatnot, it's not like you'd have an extra copy of your dog in its current state. Personality and such are decided by uncloneable DNA: the clone probably wouldn't behave like your dog.

At least in the six figures...

And then you will have to hire your own private vet for the duration of her short life. Cloned animals have a lot of problems, and most of these problems don't exist in their 'natural' counterparts. Actually you would be creating a sick, suffering animal.

i dont think they have the method perfected quite yet. they have cloned sheep before but i dont think that they have it right totally. also i dont think it is available to the public to pay for clones. but if your really determined, why dont you save some of her DNA and when it is finally available (hopefully you will be alive.) you can clone her . if she has passed by then you can clone 2 of her then they can grow up together and she will have that friend you wanted her to have.

I don't think they do it with dogs. I wouldn't do it if it was offered and affordable. I am sure it would be very, very expensive.
