The handle fits over a mating part attached to the mechanism. It just snaps in place.

should have a sliding plastic clip that, when it's in place, looks like the round base of the crank handle. look at the base very carefully, and you will see a faint line where the clip will slide toard the part that you grab with your hand when cranking the window. may need a small screwdriver to get it moving a bit.

I am guessing here as I don't have a car that new....but in all other VW, the crank handle is covered with vinyl like plastic. It is flexible, Roll back with fingers. That would be covering the screw.

what you need to do is take a thin rag or shop towel and pull it tight. Then take it behind the window rand and work back and forth wile gently pulling on the towel. Hope this helps!!
