Ralphs has double coupons so if you use coupons Ralphs is definitely better. I live really close to both a Ralphs and Vons... and usually go to Ralphs because I tend to find better deals there personally.

I have not been to a Vons or a Ralph's in 30 years, but i found Vons to be about 10% cheaper than a Ralph's

They virtually compete for the same business. One isn't less expensive than the other, per say, rather it's their sales that pits one versus the other price wise. Example: Von's has a special on T-Bone Steaks at $6.99 from January 1st through the 8th, but Ralph's during this time period is listing T-Bones at $8.99. The on January 9th Ralph's has a sale where T-Bone Steak is for sale for $6.99 and Vons moves their price back up to $8.99.
