i have a 10 month old pug who is driving me crazy ,his 10 week old cousin is a female pug and he keeps trying to mount her ,I have seperated them but he whines like you would not believe ..i am going to get them both fixed this week but can i stop him from whinning so much

i didnt know male dogs went into heat. mine never did, and he was 3 before we desexed him. maybe he just misses her and wants to play. good luck.

The only suggestion i can give you is keep one dog in one room and keep the other one in another, dont take them out together to go potty and when you take the male out dont take him to the same area of the female, I hope this has helped and one more thing it is going to cost more and be more of extensive surgery if you get the female fixed while in heat alot of vets wont do it,, so i would wait till she goes out of heat to get her fixed
EDIT: MALE DOGS DONT GO INTO HEAT!!!!! ITS ONLY A FEMALE THAT GOES INTO HEAT,, SO ITS OK TO LET THEM TOGETHER, I DIDNT GET YOUR QUESTION UNTILL NOW BUT IF THE FEMALE IS ONLY 10 WEEKS OLD THERE IS NO WAY HE CAN GET HER PREGNANT CAUSE THE FEMALE IS THE ONLY ONE THAT GOES INTO HEAT!!
He is only showing her that he is Alpha and its not anything to do with any thing sexaul,, so its ok to let them be together but you need to stop him try to hump her cause he needs to know that you are Alpha

dog should be neutered. he should also be separated from the pup- so as not to hurt her 10 weeks is young! Try giving him lots of exercise and mental stimulation (public leash walks, obedience classes, agility classes) also crate him at night next to her crate and they should get used to one another. And MALE DOGS DON'T GO INTO HEAT - and neither do 10 week old pups. good luck

this is why they need doggy condoms lol. umm well my aunts pug did the same thing only with a wiener dog. wat we did was we bought a stuffed animal that looked like the weiner dog and we gave it to the pug. he was verry happy after that lol. even after he has been fixed its still his girlfriend.
