Hi Mike...prices will vary from location to location for both private practice and shelters. Private practice (veterinary hospitals) will be the highest (e.g. between $75-400) whereas local animal shelters will perform spays for a low fee (e.g. $25-75) or for free to qualifying recipients. Contact 1-800-SPAY USA http://spayusa.org/ to locate a nearby update New York shelter to discuss the low fee or free spay services.

Depends on age of cat and the area in which you live. We live near a small town and paid $35, but our friends in Columbus, Ohio paid $85 for a cat the same age. Shop around also unless you have a regular vet. Different vet prices will vary also.

I think it's the same as dogs and it goes on the animals weight, the only real way to know is to call your cat's vet and ask. IF the cat isn't caught up on it's shots they may require that to be done. We recently had our dog that is maybe 15 lbs and I believe it was around $35.

I don't live in NY, so i can't tell you really.
I can tell you that its $100 or cheaper. I can also tell you that if you meet certain income requirements, you can get a voucher from the ASPCA or another group which will make it even cheaper.
