Yes it is best to remove the dead chicks.
But please dont remove the live ones or the mum and dad, as they might kill the babbies then in a bid to try to protect them
Just stick ya hand in while there eating or away from the babies and remove and dispose of them then leave mum to carry on, hopefully it wont bother her,
Just please dont remove the living ones not even for five minutes, or clean the box

You can't just leave the dead babies in the nest because they'll start to rot, which definitely could make the other babies sick. Try to do it as quickly as possible so you don't upset the parents. Use something to grab them out so you don't leave your smell on the other babies. If possible, have someone else distract the parents while you grab the babies out. Sorry, I hope the other ones make it.

You'll have to remove the dead ones, the bacteria will make the healthier ones sick. If possible, I would move the parents and the other babies to a temporary container with a blanket over it, just so that they calm down and don't see. Make sure to wash out and thoroughly disinfect the cage.

Finches can get upset very easy. The parents will probaley throw the dead ones out of the nest thereselves. Mine always has. Then you can remove them from the bottom of the cage.
