My prom dates dress is purple but she says that it changes shades of purple in the light what style and color tuxedo do I wear to match her?

i'm sorry, but black tuxes are the way to go! Black goes with anything, and it just plain looks good.

I would go with a traditional, three-button tux in black or dark grey. I would go with a silver or dark grey vest and tie.
Classy always works best -- don't try to be too matchy-matchy with your outfit versus hers.
If you want to make sure that you match perfectly, get a boutonnier and corsage with shades of dark purple and ivory in them.

You could do a black tux with a purple vest...I think if you go all purple that it will be toooo much!!
