it depends on your pain tolerance level. i am working on a tattoo that covers my whole back. two weeks ago i got some work done on the lower portion of it and i'll have to say that it hurt a lot. the whole time. but everybody is different.

I have two tattoos on my thigh but my sister and best friend have tats on their lower back. It wasn't that bad for either of them. A little tender as it got closer to the spine, but overall, neither of them complained that much. If you can do something to distract yourself (listen to music, bring a friend to talk to, etc) it goes much quicker and you are more distracted from the pain. Happy tatting!

You lower back will hurt but what tat doesnt hurt. It will hurt the most on your spine if any of it covers that area. Your "love handles" will also be pretty sensative

It hurts but, all tattoos hurt. It hurts more when it gets closer to the spine but, it's not completely unbearable. You'll be fine. Just relax don't move!

It hurts, but I believe it hurts more on other parts such as the ankle or shoulders.

I wouldn't say it hurts any more than any other place. Are you sure you want it there? That place is so over done by females lately...
