Do you really want to become friends with him? If you want to become friends for ANY other reason than you like his company, you're doing it for the wrong reasons and will just end up getting hurt. Don't become friends with him to get back together, etc. Being friends should happen naturally, you shouldn't think of your relationship, etc. If you harbour any resentment towards him I'd give it more time. If you have to ask, you're probably not ready.

You shouldn't be interested in being friends with someone when a relationship didn't work out. It's nature's way of saying "Move On!" But, if you really want to show you can keep it friendly and have no romantic interest, get him involved with another girl and then be there for him as he tries his best to navigate that relationship.

It seems such as you nonetheless have emotions for him. i does no longer push the friendship. only bypass on doing all your individual element and say "hi" once you notice him. at last while he feels gentle sufficient he will make eye-touch with you. do only no longer carry out for him thinking you gets back jointly. i've got been there in the previous and all I did grew to become into waste my time, yet now over 10 years later i'm waiting to declare "hi" when I run into him.

are you sure that is what you want to do? If it is not happening nuaturally, you may want to avoid trying to force it. And are your motives right? are you desiring a friendship with him b/c it is as close as you wil be to getting back with him? or because you wanna keep a watch on him. Make sure that you want to be his friend for the right reason.
