my cat loves to play "spin the kitty" but only for a little while, we play "chase the kitty" and she loves it...she loves to play "chase the rope" and "get the feather boa" once i brought home a cat toy that was a wad of feathers on the end of a long string tied to a stick and cast the feather end to the middle of the floor and the youngest kitten came out from under a chair like a ferocious lion and attacked it growling and carrying on played with it for a good hour (which is a long time for a cat to play with anything like that).
another one of her favorite games is "make my human's wife scream" she sneaks out and brings in a live snake...PANDAMONIUM with the human creatures what fun!
just a pain piece of yarn or string and you will keep kitty playing untill you both tire of it.

We bought all kinds of expensive toys at the local pet store for my cat, but turns out his favorite toy is a scrunched up Starbucks pastry bag! (The thing "envelope" kind, not the handle paper bag). We think it's because he can smell the food residue on the bag and also the texture of the paper is easy on his teeth. He swats it around the house like a soccer ball and chases after it when we throw it to him. It doesn't really matter what kind of toy you get, even a little piece of yarn, as long as you spend time with your cat.

We play cat hockey with a plastic bottle cap on the floor you can even put points on peice of paper to keep score. This really isnt fair to the cat since it cannot keep score, you will have to so resist the urge to cheat.you flick the cap at the goal .our cat will sometimes catch it so no points for me.When I flick it past the cat and the computer desk legs I get ten points.same for the cat as a smart cat can flick it a good ways.sometimes in the wrong direction but give him a break hes a cat.

You could go shopping for some toys, treats or enjoyable things for you cat. But if you don't like to spend a lot of money just have them chase a string or hide and seek or tag or empty papertowel tubes or socks. cats will just about play with anything and they don't know that your cheap. I ensure you that you will have fun playing with you cat

cats love playing with strings that they can chase u don't need to buy toys to make your cat play with u

u just need to play chase with the cat make sure the string is long though so that it goes on the ground when u run around with it and then your cat should follow the string and chase after it =)

I have a lazer pointer. You can have them running ALL OVER the house. It is lots of fun for both. There aren't really a lot of games. If you want, you could buy a cat leash and walk your cat outside. One of my cats loves that.

Throw a bouncy ball down the stairs (one of those Z-balls or something) and they will chase it around for a while.

use a laser pen, but once they know it's not real, they would get bored of it and stop chasing it. you could buy a mouse from a pet store if you want, robotic is probably safer. if you want to make one, a crumpled piece of paper tied with string is their favorite toy. you can make it chase it. you can also use a jumprope and drag the rope across the floor. or, you could just roll around those balls you get for 25 cents and it with it by itself. DON'T roll a ball of yarn. they will tangle it and themself up, get their claws stuck, and you will have to end up cutting off the yarn.

hi you said nothing about toys but if you go and buy high class expensive (5.00-10.00$) cat nip may seem expensive but really gets them exited after getting that try getting a stick or old small fishing pole tie string on end and attach gingily cat ball on end sit in chair and rest pole on arm rest dangle it around while cat is exited then your cat should try to catch ball do this until cat looses itrest should entertain both of you well %)( gone fishin)catfishin that is;)

I've had cats that play fetch and hide and seek/tag with me. I would chase one cat across the house, then she would wait in that room for me to run and hide, then come running looking for me, to be chased again. I would sometimes hide in a bathroom or closet and she would run past it and I would jump out behind her and surprise her. One cat loves me to throw balls really high above him so he can jump and catch them.

I think the individual cat has to want to play these types of games though... some cats would get scared if you chased them for example.
