Remember that she is your LITTLE sister which means that she looks up to you a lot (even if she is not expressing it right now). If you smack her, she is going to think it's okay to hit people and that will mess her up even more down the line. Let her know that the two of you are not in competition with one another; you both have your strengths and your weaknesses. Being sibs just means that you two know what is going to bother the other one and she must have clued in on what you don't like about yourself (the grades). Trust me, life isn't about grades and 5 years from now, neither one of you will care who earned an A in class. What you need to focus on is being there for one another since your parents don't seem to be doing well. Support her in her grades. Tell her that you are proud of her for her accomplishments. A little bit of praise goes a long way. Sooner or later, she will start supporting you in your triumphs. Remember, you two are on the same team and with the two of you supporting each other, you are twice as strong as before. Good luck!

She's in 7th grade...she's at that point in her life where she feels like she has to prove herself. though it might not seem like it at the moment, ur the one she feels that she really has to prove herself to. she wants nothing more than to be like you! she probably feels that since she has a really good trait in her (good grades) she feels the need to flaunt it.

the next time ur lil sis does this, and I KNOW it's not easy, smile and say that u think it's great about her grades or whatever else she flaunts, and that ur really proud of her. if she is stubborn, u might have to do it more than once, but TRUST ME it works.

P.S.--Ur the bigger sis!! remember to set good examples!! =)

if y'all are going through a tough time realize that she may be acting this way because of it. Be patient with her, talk with her. Sounds like the both of you could use a break.

look just tell your sis strait up how you feel and if she is says something mean remind her that you are bigger than her or just tell your parents how you feel about your LITTLE sister
