We've been together 2 years, live together and are engaged , i'm pretty sure he trusts me and he knows he can trust me with anything.

Its not just problems/depper feelings, can be monosyllabic about pretty much everything

Show him that you value his opinions. The next time something comes up ask him what he thinks, and don't let him tip toe around it.

Simple things like what did you think of that movie? etc are easy ways to make him say what is on his mind.

To make what he says feel valued you should ask him his opinions on how you should wear your hair, fav perfume etc. and then wear it to make him feel good.

Keep asking him what he wants and thinks, help him to feel confident around friends by giving him oppurtunities to say what he thinks, encourage him and soon he should find that he has something to say.

Gd luck & God Bless x

Ask him questions about stuff. If he says, "I had a really bad day today?", ask "Why, what happened?" If he wants to tell you, keep going, don't ask 'yes' or 'no' questions either. If you're having a conversation with him and he starts talking for a while, don't do other things, it will look like your too preoccupied to care.

If you have an issue that you want to discuss with someone, turn to him. Say, "xyz is so frustrating, I can't think straight! So what do you think I should do about it?" You can even ask simple stuff like, "Do you think we should go to an Italian or Mexican restaurant tonight?"

Maybe this will make him feel like you really do value his opinion, whether with big issues or not. And also, maybe if he realizes that you confide in him, he'll have no problem expressing himself.

Take it slow. Dont rush him, start by asking him little things like "would you like to go here or there for dinner. Make sure you are specific and have options for him to choose. Then work your way into questions like where do you want to go for dinner. Making him have to think about it and come up with ideas of his own. This will make him realize that you actually care about his opinion and that his needs are important too. This will make it easier for him to express his feelings more openly. By the way, it doest have to be about dinner, just fill in the blanks. Good Luck!

Men generally don't seem to like talking about "stuff" so don't push it. Ask for his help with a task which you know he can do & that may boost his confidence, but don't delve into his emotions unless he obviously wants to open up to you.

Just be supportive and don't push it. If you make a big deal about it, he might just recede deeper into himself. Try casually talking about how you feel about something and ask him how he feels.

Just listen when he talks. Don't push him. Just keep being available, respectful and kind. Eventually he may feel comfortable enough to go on and on. When he does, try not to fall asleep! *Just kidding. LOL*

Tell him that you don't think that what he says is boring.
You can also ask him to tell you what he feels about stuff directly. Just ask him different questions about anything.

sometimes men thinks it's not good idea to talk about their problems etc... but if u talk about ur problems and u show him that u dont get soo weak towards ur problems and u always find the right way to solve them, then he talk to u about stuff
