It's not weird at all.That is just his way of kissing.There is no rule that your eyes should be closed while kissing someone.Most of the time I kiss with opened eyes.I like to see the expression on my bf's face while kissing me! :)

I've never experienced it before. Why don't you ask him to try kissing you with his eyes closed - tell him it's much more romantic, and see what he says once he's tried it.
