There are readers out there who would be surprised or offended with the notion that high-technology was described in the Bible. There are other readers who have realized that the only explanations to Biblical mysteries are ancient Close Encounters. A good question is: Why are certain, Old Testament events written about in the Bible? The answer could be that these were special events between basically two groups of people: One group was the primitives or the general state of humanity in Biblical times. The other group was the relatively few HUMANS that still retained and utilized technology originating from the days of Atlantis.
I want to know what do you think?
Thank You...

EXAMPLE: And as they still went on and talked, behold, a chariot of fire and horses of fire separated the two of them. And Eli'jah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

Having just finished Stephen Baxter's Transcendent, I find it easier to believe that the encounters in the bible with aliens/angels and, indeed, with god/satan are actually visitations from a future humanity. Either explanation is more believable than the bible taken literally.

Very good thinking. Now tell me why are those people who claim to be more advance and have High Technology for more than 2100 years still believe that the world was flat like a table, when the primitive people from the days of Atlantis wrote in Isaiah 40:22 that the world is cicular or spheric just like a ball in 712 BC, while the scientists did not believe the fact until Christopher columbus proved it in 1492 AD.
And more amazingly, in the book of Job written by a more ancient person who admitted a still more ancient Close Encounters, wrote in Job 26:7 (c. 1500 BC) that the world hang on nothing, while all advance scientist until the time of Galileo Galilei's invention of telescope proving that the stars are innumerable and that the earth hang on nothing, all believed that it was upheld by Giants like Hercules, Atlas or even giant turtles.
"7He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing. " (Job 26:7)
And that the number of stars are fix and only 1056 (Ptolemy) or 1005 (Kepler).
"As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured: so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me." (Jeremiah 33:22)
And where did the writer of the book of Job got the knowledge which says we can use electricity or lightning charges, to be our faithful servants, as we do know, 3500 years ago?
Canst thou send lightnings, that they may go and say unto thee, Here we are? (Job 38:35)

I think strange events, or encounters, are what caused people to write, or draw pictures. Before language, humans had a tradition of story telling, so events would not be forgotten. These would have been written down later on.

God vs. Science
God is sitting in Heaven when a scientist says to Him, "Lord, we don't need You anymore. Science has finally figured out a way to create life out of nothing. In other words, we can now do what you did in the beginning."
"Oh, is that so? Tell me," replies God.
"Well," says the scientist, "We can take dirt and form it into the Likeness of You and breathe life into it, thus creating man."
"Well, that's interesting. Show me."
So the scientist bends down to the Earth and starts to mold the soil.
"Oh no, no, no," interrupts God. "Get your own dirt!"

I read five years ago about a pocketwatch found in a geode. I don't know whether or not it was true, but it would back this up.
