Most like it's from eye stress, I get it when I look at my computer screen for too long (i'm a programmer) even on LCD screens.

The good news is that eye stress does not cause permenate damage, it's just an annoyance. The best way to address it is:

1. Eat more beta carotene (aka Vitamin A), best way to get it is carrots and other vegatables, don't use pills.

2. At your local vitamin store you can get the herb "Eyebright" which helps with the eye.

3. if you're using an old CRT monitor, make sure the refresh is set to 85 hz, or better yet, get an LCD screen, makes a huge difference

4. take short breaks, look away from the screen and focus in on something far away. Also rest your eyes by keeping them open and holding your palms over them, this is more effective than closing them.

The minor eyelid twitching or flickering you're describing is called myokymia. It's an involuntary, continuous muscle contraction that most of us experience at some point in our lives, and it can last anywhere from several seconds or hours to days. Most of the time, this condition spontaneously fixes itself, but if your twitch persists for more than two months, a doctor may prescribe a mild muscle relaxer.

It's just a muscle spasm, like you would get anywhere else in your body. There may not be a real reason for it that you can control. Some things to try:

If you wear contacts, be sure to take them out in the early evening and wear your glasses, to give your eyes a chance to rest.

If you do a lot of reading or computer work, take regular breaks and focus on things at a distance.

If it continues to bother you, or if it becomes painful, call your doctor.

Good luck!

Mine does it too. It would do it for a few days, stop for a few days, and then start all over again. Finally, I just went to the doctor. He said it was most likely stress. However, he did check my blood pressure just to be sure. Apparently, if your blood pressure sky rockets, it can cause some twitching in your eyes.

Dont worry, my eye used to twitch alot as well. I saw a doctor about it and he said it was just becuz my eye muscles were getting strained too much. i didnt even notice, but actually, I needed glasses! Once I got my glasses, my eye muscles never had to strain to see anything, soo its all good ;)
