Hi there again Mollee...consider having your vet evaluate Snugs. Cats who are seniors tend to develop health problems which are age related such as hyperthyroidism, kidneys, diabetes, etc. Vomiting frequently along with urinating and defecating inappropriately as you've noted in your previous question indicates Snugs may be going through kidney failure also known as chronic renal failure (CRF). Kidneys are filter systems for our body and when they are failing they no longer can remove the stuff the body produces from food which makes a body feel sick (nauseated) and why then Snugs doesn't feel like eating. If caught early enough it can be manageable, however left untreated it can be fatal.

Please have your parents get Snugs to the vet quickly as this is considered life-threatening!

A hungry cat will eat about any kind of meat or dry cat food. Put some food out every day around the same time, and he will make it a habit of coming to your house to eat. I found a kitty like this a few years ago, and it was a long process. She wouldn't eat until I went into the house. So after a while I would stay outside far away from the food and watch her. Every day I would get just a little closer, and it took forever to get this cat to where I could even touch her. To make a long story not as long, it may take time for the kitty to trust you enough to let you pet it. Cats have serious trust issues, and if you have earned their trust you have really accomplished something. So take your time and don't expect too much at first. If he is hungry he will eat and will remember where he got it and be back for more. Just take it easy with him, and soon you may have a cat on your keyboard like I have right now.

Hi
I think snugs needs to go to his vet
There are many reasons elderly cats vomit.
He may have something as simple as hairballs or a food allergy, however poor snugs may have other issues such as Diabetes, Kidney Failure, Hyperthyriodism or other medical conditions.
At the age of 18 if snugs hasn't had a comprehensive blood profile done in the last 12 months I would suggest that he needs it to be done - it will let you now how his organs (Kidney/Liver/pancreas) are going and can rule out/in diabetes from his glucose levels.

This can be a bad sign. Your cat needs to go to the vet. Our cat was vomiting and I was able to rectify the situation by adjusting his diet. I found that when I gave my cat wet food, it made hime vomit. A good mix of wet food and dry food I found worked well. I serve them in separage bowls. Make sure your vet sees your cat before making any changes to his diet. Also, it may help to add a little bit of water to his wet food. Sometimes adding a bit of water to his wet food may help it go down better.
Also, please keep the cat litter fresh and the water bowl clean. These things, when not taken care of, can make him feel worse. Smelling bad things when losing an appetite never makes anyone hungry. I wish you well!

do you ever find objects in the vomit. maybe the cat ate something bad. also it may have eaten a poisoned animal(i.e. a deconned mouse or rat).have you changed the brand of food or the amount you feed. the cat may just be old and looking to die.or it could have an illness or infection that it is trying to rid itself of by vomiting. has the cat always ben in this particular house. if not it may be allergic to something in the house.

Usually cats that old, are obsessed with cleaning themselves. Chances are they are hair balls. As for the food, make sure it's wet food if it's not, he may have a hard time chewing the dry food. If it gets worse TAKE HIM TO THE VET IMEDIATLY

he may have a blockage or hair balls that have accumulated in his digestion track..try hair ball medicine but if he start's to lose weight take him to the vet. 18 is old for a kitty .I know this is bad but it could be reality..he might just be getting ready to pass.you could also try organic cat grass, this is good for digestion, web site as follows
citycat.biz my babies love it.in fact they are on their website because it is such a good product. Also inspect his teeth if he has a bad tooth he wont chew his food correctly ans may not be to chew it and he will throw it up.try wet food ,see what results you get with that.Good luck to you.

Call your vet. Your cat is sick if it's not eating. 18 is very old for a cat, so it will need more care. It may need a special diet or something.

IMMEDIATELY TAKE THIS CAT TO A VET! At 18 years of age, lack of interest in eating and vomiting, this cat is likely very sick.
