Panic attacks are a symptom of high stress and anxiety. It's important to know that you will not die from a panic attack even though you may try to convince yourself that you are having a heart attack for example.
What you need to do is lie down somewhere quiet, put soft music on that you like and relax every part of your body starting with your mind. Keep thinking this will not harm me. Then take 3 slow deep breaths, holding each breath for a few seconds before very slowly letting it go. Really focus on the breath.
Then starting at your head tighten then relax all the muscle groups, do this all the way down your body.
You see if your body and mind is relaxed, it is impossible to have a panic attack.
Best wishes.

The number one cause of a panic attack, is worrying if another one is going to happen.
I know it is hard, but try to relax. Find something that relaxes you. Such as a hot bath or breathing techniques.
If you have not talked to a doctor yet, you should to discuss your options.
Counseling works for some and for others meds work. Anxiety is really something that can paralyze your life. Try to get a hold on it now, before it gets any worse.

The worst thing you can do is get all keyed up over having another one! Watch how much caffiene you are using and keep it moderate. This is something that MAY never happen again. If it does, it WILL pass.
Medications for anxiety are often sedating, and have the possibility of become addicting. You might want to wait things out for awhile to see how it goes before heading to the Doctor.

In order to control your panic attacks and reduce the risk of getting more, you'll have to relax your mind and body (meditation for example), and try not to worry about getting another panic attack, b/c if you keep thinking you'll get one... you'll make yourself freak out. If you feel like you're going to have another one, reprogram your thoughts to happy thoughts or focus on something that will keep your mind off from thinking of getting an attack like counting backwards by 3's or start singing your favorite song... anything to keep your mind off worrying about getting an attack.

I have had panic attacks through out my life. It can be terrifying. You just need to go with it. Slow breathing, in and out, for a few minutes. Your heart rate will start to slow and you will start to feel better. You might be having stress in your life, that can bring them on. Was it something particular that brought it on, or was it random? See a doctor if it continues. There is medication that can help you. Inderal is one that I know works. Good luck to you.
