You may be able to get it when you're 16 with a parent, but most reputable shops won't do it even then. Plus you're not finished maturing until at least 18, so it may stretch a lot after you get it and you may change your mind.

It differs by state, but if you are asking I'm sure you are under 16, honey my rule is if you think you found the perfect tattoo, look at it for a minimum of 2 years and then see if you really still can't live without it. And never put a name except Mom and Dad, or a sibling, family member! I go by five yr.Jan 12th is my my b-day and yes I still want it, hoped to get it that day but not after the bills. If your wondering on age, two yrs will seem long. My daughter was 15 when she had her back done, and yes if you are a thin girl it will hurt like hell there, esp. at your age. She regrets it already, and the Tattoo was done with such a heavy hand (yes part of the pain) but we haven't found anyone to help fix it.
She went to a shop that took kids w/o looking at ID's. We, as a group, are suing, for a variety of reason, but mostly because he made a quick buck, charged twice the price, and because there were 6 of them, he wanted the God almighty dollar at the expensive of imature girls.
Think a bit longer, and have someone go with you so you are sure the placement is right.
Good luck even if you don't listen to me, lol!

Well, even though you will probably disregard anything I tell you, let me explain to you why there are laws against tattooing minors.
I'm not sure how old you are, exactly, but I'm going to take a wild guess here and say that you aren't mature enough to be making permanent decisions (such as a tattoo) on your own.
And not only that, if you get a tattoo before the age of 18, you are taking the risk of having something put on your skin when your body isn't quite done growing. If your body does continue to grow, you could end up with a stretched, distorted tattoo. And who wants to live with that for the rest of their life?
I know you want to be "cool" and rebelious and whatever, but there are reasons why you should wait.
But since you're probably going to do it anyway, just keep in mind that we don't want to hear you complain about it once you have a tattoo that looks like crap.
Thanks :)

In Australia if you have a piercer as a friend you can get it done as soon as possible (usually 15)
And if you also have parents permission if you are in Australia it can be done at the age of 16 but legally it's suppose to be done at the age of 18.

In Connecticut, i've got had pals get tattoos at sixteen with parental consent. i do no longer understand in case you would be youthful, yet you would be a minimum of sixteen. i've got additionally had a chum who grew to become into emancipated get a tattoo at 17. merely call distinctive shops and ask them their rules. i've got no longer considered something in Connecticut it extremely is a strict age you won't be in a position to be below. the specific shop will possibly no longer enable tattooing of little ones below a definite age, nonetheless. And FYI, i'm pointing out CT because of the fact it is likewise in New England.

I think they will do it if your 16. You will have to ask the tattoo parlors, not everyone will do it even with a parents permission.
