Hmmm, apparently if I told you it was raining gold ingots outside right now you'd run out there to get some, right?... Funny how someone with access to the internet couldn't be bothered to check if this clown, "Gilbert Burnham" was giving out the facts or just offering his delusional take on what he perceives as reality... Note how the Washington Post accepts the numbers as fact without looking into it... Consider the following from Iraq Body Count: A new study has been released by the Lancet medical journal estimating over 650,000 excess deaths in Iraq. The Iraqi mortality estimates published in the Lancet in October 2006 imply, among other things, that: On average, a thousand Iraqis have been violently killed every single day in the first half of 2006, with less than a tenth of them being noticed by any public surveillance mechanisms; Some 800,000 or more Iraqis suffered blast wounds and other serious conflict-related injuries in the past two years, but less than a tenth of them received any kind of hospital treatment; Over 7% of the entire adult male population of Iraq has already been killed in violence, with no less than 10% in the worst affected areas covering most of central Iraq; Half a million death certificates were received by families which were never officially recorded as having been issued; The Coalition has killed far more Iraqis in the last year than in earlier years containing the initial massive "Shock and Awe" invasion and the major assaults on Falluja. ================================ Typical lib-tards! Go for what you want to believe even if the facts undercut the nonsense being foisted off as news.

As a former Marine who served in Iraq, and Afghanistan let me put this as plainly as possible.
Of course it upset us that anywhere between 150-200,000. civillians have been killed in Iraq. But the vast majority of civillians were certainly not killed by us. Al Qaida in Iraq, and the Sunni Insurgency along with the Militias, have been responsible for 75% of all civillian casualties in Iraq. American forces do our best to protect innocent lives, but unfortunately the piss poor plannin by the White House, and Pentagon, along with not deploying near enough troops, has made it impossible to protect the civillian population. American forces have killed or captured some 65,000 Enemy combatants of all types, those people and many more like them are the ones who routinely kill civillians, and they are the ones we must continue to eliminate.

I think you are confusing the number of Iraqis Saddam killed with how many have died in the war.
We do care about our fellow humans very, very much. That's why we do so much charitable work in "3rd world countries" - much more than any other country.
But, if you are not trying to start some propaganda, you are falling for it.

War is a terrible thing but you cannot seriously believe that 600,000 lives are more important that 3000. Who put a number value on life. People I swear...

Of coarse Americans value American lives more than they do Iraqi lives. Hell, we value American lives more than we do any other countries lives. What kind of stupid question is that?
Iraqi's are dying by the hand of arabs and persians. The only Iraqi lives being lost at the hand of Americans, are those who chose to fight against Americans.
Point your crooked little finger at the arabs and persians because our consciences are clear when it comes to knowing who the real killers are in Iraq.
Weapons were there, prior to the invasion. Syria is the beneficiary to these weapons so stow the bullsh it about weapons. Once the Iraqi people learn they must take control of their destiny, things will get better. As long as they choose to act like lemmings and wait for the insurgents to smoke their Asses, they will continue to die.
They may have to get pro-active in this endeavor. They may have to get off their dead @sses and go out and kill those who are killing them.

do Americans care? well yes i do. i don't want to see innocent people die. But i think that's why the war has lasted as long as it has. used to they didn't care and just dropped a bombs. i didn't lose anyone in 9-11 but it still infuriated me. And i told myself that we should bring hell to them all. But now i feel different. I would think that most of those people were aggressive to us troops. We are not there so we don't know whats its like to always look over you shoulder.

I believe that Bush does value American life over Iraqi life, but still under the value of oil. He will send everyone out to war if it will get him that little bit of oil.

I think some do but the media out there spins the war as though the nation is fighting a 'valiant war on terror' so they are conditioned to believe it is the necessary thing to do. But that is a complete lie - it is about OIL and MONEY.
Just read some of the other answers from people.... 'Oh we gotta be there to fight the terrorists!!! Have you forgotten 9/11??'
No I haven't forgotten 9/11 - HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN IRAQ HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH 9/11?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Americans don't Care.
We started this war,Iraq did nothing to us.
What about the ten's of thousands who are maimed for life.
If Americans took the time to demand change from the President,
we could end this carnage.
