Uh... you can't lose weight without some kind of working out or diet. Anyways, ur talking to the right person. When i was 14 i lost 60-70 pounds. I actually joined the football team, but never really lost weight till i ate healthy. What is needed is a cut down of calories. 3000 calories is a pound. So burn that amount of calories or lose 3000 calories that u normally eat every weak. Weights is the best if u want to lose weight. Arnold Swarzenager( don't know how to spell his last name) went from being fat to body builder body in 3 months, just by lifting weights. Lifting weights allows the process of losing weight to quicken. Drinking lots of water after working out is crucial too. As it will clense out all the bad toxins that prevent you from losing fat. Running is a part of healthy lifestyle too. Anything that gives you a good cardio workout is good for losing weight. Hope this helps!

Offer to go jogging with him, and stick to it. It's a lot easier to exercise if you have a partner.
Without a diet change or working out, your friend won't make any headway. Willpower alone doesn't help.
Advise him to stop eating flour and sugar, sticking instead to meat, dairy, and above all, green veggies. It's a simple diet prescribed by the advice doctor in my local newspaper, and from what I've read in Atkins, South Beach, and Anthropology 101, it should be much healthier for him---and you.

Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic load. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin and healthy. Find out about fastest way to lose weight, most effective exercise, good and bad carbs, water retention and secret trick used by models to flatten their tummy before an event.
Reading a book will take you hours but the information on a post, taking minutes to read, is not enough. The webpage below has just enough to know what you need to know. Links page has gov. BMI calculater to find out just how much overweight you are (teens plug in your age to compare to others your age). Most important-- make sure to read the last "fat loss tip", first before anything else, to see the number one food that causes Americans to be fat.

His parents have to be the ones who help him. They buy and prepare his meals. They need to stop buying junk food and prepare healthy meals. He also needs to exercise. Buy him a bike.
