Im interested in learning more about Global Warming and I realize there are a lot of sources of information out there.

If anyone could post a source that they felt was particularly helpful in understanding the basics about Global Warming, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

global warming is the result of harmful UV rays from the sun reaching the earth. let me explain.
the earth is protected by a layer of OZONE (o3) above the stratosphere. there are huge gaping holes in the ozone layer as a result of POLLUTION. this means that the HARMFUL UV RAYS can get into the earth's atmosphere but cannot get out again, this is causing the temperature to rise and as a result the polar ice caps melt and cause a rise in sea levels. eventually the whole planet will become submerged. also the northern hemisphere owes its climate to the NORTH ATLANTIC CURRENT. a balance of salt and freshwater from near the equator circulates most of the northern hemisphere and keeps the sea a little warmer. this current could stop and as a result it could trigger the COOLING PROCESS that would put the norther hemisphere into a new ice age. thousands of tons of FRESH WATER has been dumped into the sea as a re ult of the melting polar ice caps and so the balance in the NORTH ATLANTIC CURRENT is faulted, there goes our warm climate.
trust me on this

Global warming is the observed increase in the average temperature of the Earth's atmosphere and oceans in recent decades.

An increase in global temperatures is expected to cause other changes, such as a rising sea level due to thermal expansion of the ocean in addition to melting of land ice. In fact we just lost an island due to global warming, check out my question for more details.

Also watch an inconvient truth, I heard it's a great movie about global warming, I have yet to see it myself. I'll try to post more info later 2nite cuz I gotta get off the computer now. But I promise more info.

I’ve read much on the problem. What I’m sure of is that global warming is present nowadays! I can witness it myself. The cause of it, for how long it will last, etc – all explanations and predictions are likely very doubtful! My point of view is that it is mostly a natural phenomenon after global cooling.

Very simple.......there is no such thing. In the 70's there was national panic about global cooling....we were headed for another ice age. The earth goes in cycles......warms up, cools down.

I always like Wikipedia for a first overview of a subject:

Or you could rent the DVD, An Inconvenient Truth.
