A young man who was having a seizure or something fell down on the subway tracks, this gentleman jumped down tried to pull him up, but didn't have time. So he pushed him down in a gutter between the tracks and saved them both. They had about two inches to spare from being hit by the top of the train. Modern day Hero?

Total hero. I saw that news coverage last night and when I heard him describe it, I just got really choked up. What a horrendous thing for him to go through and for his little girls to witness. I just can't even imagine. We can all only hope that if something so unpredictable ever happened to us, there would be a person this selfless standing by to react and save our lives. You never know what a person is capable of until put to the test, and this man has certainly shown what he is made of in the best way possible.

A definite hero and class act! You hear the bad stories about New Yorkers but it's rare when you find a story of a stranger who risks his own life (and has very young daughters) to save someone.

I actually take that line "1" and know the station (137th Street/City College). No question the New York media ran with this story! Better than seeing Saddam.

Definitely a hero. When I heard the story this morning, I was in absolute awe. Mr Autry risked his own life to save someone else in need. And they say we New Yorkers don't give a dam n!

He's a totally selfless person.... I think it's amazing what he did. They had him on the news this morning and he just brushed off what he did as no big deal. (Is he KIDDING???)

So many people have an image of New Yorkers being rude, uncaring, nasty people - this guy proves them all wrong.
