I received a traffic ticket in Calfornia for making an illegal turn. The citation indicates I have a Virginia driver's license and registration. In fact my license and registration are both in Pennsylvania. The address on the ticket is a local PO Box in California. What risk do I have if I don't pay? Can this ticket really be tied to me in that there is no record of me in Virginia? (Other than that was/is the address on my Pennsylvaniadriver's license) I used to be active duty military hence the confusion.

I think you are certainly better off paying it, either for the conviction or for traffic school (which costs the same or a bit more, but does not result in a conviction). It is possible that with the difference in license information, the conviction won't catch up to you. You do nothing wrong by taking care of the ticket with the information they have now, as long as you don't give them any false information.

But if you do break the law by failing to appear, and make them issue a warrant, a more complete search is pretty much guaranteed. They are not going to extradite you on a traffic ticket, or upon the inevitable failure to appear misdemeanor filing, but it could affect your ability to get a license in another state, certainly would inhibit your return to California, and it will cost you a LOT more money to clear it up then.

You can pay it late, no problem. The late fees vary in different cities so check with the DMV where you got the ticket, and it's probably also printed right on the ticket itself. It's very common for tickets to double after 30 days unpaid so I would not be surprised if the ticket now costs $90 to pay off; however some cities (like Baltimore) double it the first month AND add a $12 late fee every month after that--- so don't put it off any longer!

Of course you don't pay it. It's only good in California and if you never get stopped in that state again, no problem! Virginia doesn't care, neither does Pennsylvania.

Should I pay my traffic ticket? I will answer a question with a question... Would you like an arrest warrant?

Pay the ticket. The data base is national and individual states refer to it when you are applying or renewing your license. So you can pay it now, or you can pay it later (with penalties).

Yes, just pay it, they will find you. And if you are military, are you nucken futs? why risk all that trouble over a traffic citation. If they got your name they can find you.

If you can't fight it, I think because they have you (even if it is a past you) on file. California cops have become real pigs when it comes to stupid traffic tickets.
