I'm a devoted Christian, is 16 too young to date? I think that I am pretty responsible and I know my limits. I don't want to date because of popularity or foolish things like that. However there is someone that I have met that I would like to have a serious relationship with. The only problem is, my dad says that I am too young and won't let me.
Can a wise Christian please tell me what their beliefs are in that area?

alright...i am not Christian...i am Jewish but i understand where you are coming from. if you are a devoted Christian it should not matter what age you are for dating...just follow what you believe in with your faith so far and the right answers will come with it! if you think you are mature enough to date then go ahead...16 is a perfect time to start dating!

I am a Christian and my parents wont let me date and I agree because you like someone(I have)you dont have to date...Dating is for finding someone to live the rest of your life with and get married.Dating theses days I think gets a little too serious sometimes and if we all stay friends its good. Its still okay to feel a crush or whatever and you can tell that person...but wait untill your older and more preapared for the changes it might bring.

hey i'm a CHristian too and 16...my parents never wanted me to date either...too young and all that...you know the topics...but after talking and my parents knowing that they can trust me, decided to let me...(even though i haven't found someone yet) So I, personally don't think 16 is too young (any younger, then it is)But i'm kinda in the same position...Right now there's a guy i'm into too...but i'm not to sure about his thoughts on me and my parents haven't met him (yet)...Your dad probably has his reasons...but try and convince him that the guy is upstanding, a Christian too (hopefully) and that he can trust the both of you...Maybe then he'll come around...Good Luck! Hope things work out!

I think 16 is ok for dating.
I do not think it is okay to have sex at 16. Parents tend to think that if a young person is dating, they are having sex. Not always true. Talk to your dad about your beliefs, tell him that you feel ready to date, and that because of your beliefs, you are not wanting to do anything stupid. Explain that you would like to "go to a movie", go "grab something to eat" and ease into dating a little at a time.

I'm sixteen, and, I personally think that I am too young to date (because I don't think I'm mature enough). But, for most other 16 year olds, I don't think it's too young. Any lower than sixteen, then, yeah, I think so.

I'm a Christian, and I don't think 16 is too young.
But your dad might have reasons for that.
