Because of fear. some people just don't want to accept the sheer randomness of life. It is a scary concept, but life is random. Things can be fine then for no reason you die or become ill or disabled or your life changes in a desperate way. some people can't accept that it's all just random, whose born. who lives. who dies, whose sick. To rationalize this we invented religion and some people are unable to accept this and attribute all things to some mythical over arcing power that will one day explain all.

I would submit that you believe similar things. You could not live your life if you did not. Everyday actions require belief in things that we do not see and cannot prove. We take someone's word on sooooooooooooooo many things just to make it in everyday existence.

Maybe you need a bit more objectivity instead of simply spouting your own belief without evidence. You cannot disprove the existence of God any more than I can prove it.

Proof is not the end all be all of existence. Most things in life are not proven. We only have evidence. Evolution, the Big Bang, no proof only evidence and theory. For that matter there is no proof that 2+2 actually equals four. But it sure comports with reality.

I really wonder how do you say that! Religion and prophets are all part of history. They are true in the same way the Pharaoh nation existed 7000 years ago. They are basic events that shaped the history of earth, they are not superstitions nor myths.

And the Holly Book (i.e: Quran) is still there for you to hold, read, hear, and feel.

Believe me.

Sometimes ignorance is bliss but you have to ask yourself- at what expense? Some religions/cults are way to dangerous to be ignorant about. For example, the jonestown cult committed mass suicide because nobody had the mindset to question their faith. Islam is dangerous religion that muslims follow without even understanding what is written in the Quran. Nope, its too lethal.

Many answers, easiest are upbringing and comfort.

Many of us believe what our parents have taught us.

Next is becuase it's comfortable having all of the answers, though this seems to need a bit of imagination. I like the fact that Christians seem to discount the O.T. like that god isn't their God.

I have proof 2+2=4 dummies, here (II) + (II) = (IIII) easy enough

There's nothing to prove it wrong, either. And with many religions, science actually compliments it.

All in all, I'd have to say religion is the only thing that makes life worth living.

religion "per se" is of very little importance.
what is important is YOUR personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
don't get hung up on "religion".

John 3: The Words of Jesus Christ
3. "Verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God."
4. Nicodemus saith unto Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?"
5. Jesus answered, "Verily, werily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God."
6. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again."
16. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17. For God sent not His Son into the worls to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
18. He that believeth on Him is not condemned; but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in thename of the only begotten Son of God."

It seems to be a human condition, my friend. Its the "us or them" mentality, and whoever can scream the loudest gets the prize (whatever that is).
