When my dogs have been used as blood donors, the vet has put them laying down on the table (not on either side, just laying on their stomach and chest). Then he has one vet tech hold the head up and another to hold the feet. But, the dog must be kept extremely still in order to donate blood.

Any of those choices...depending on the size of the dog, and the situation.

LOL!! I would PAY to see someone stick the jugular on one of my dogs with their legs off the table!!!!!!!!!!
