If God loves us so much then why does he send us to Hell and not let us into Heaven if we have made mistakes in our lives that he thinks is a "sin". My friend asked me this question and I wanted to see what you guys think.

God does love us. He did not create hell for us. It says hell elarges itself daily. but it never says He created it for us. What He did do is send His only begotten Son to die for our sins so we won't have to go to hell. We have broken fellowship with Him and the nly way to get back into fellowship with Him is to accept His Love He has for us

Hi Honeybee.

God gives us free will and the freedom of our choices. If we chose to do evil or "wrong" things, why would he reward us by allowing us into heaven---to be close to him?

Christians still commit sins; however, when they do so, they acknowlege they've done something wrong and repent. Repenting means being sorry for that "sin" and not doing that "sin" anymore. If you're doing that, GOD isn't going to send you to hell instead of heaven.

I am a Christian, have been all of my life. I've read and know the Bible backward and forward. I often wonder if hell is a real place or just a metaphor for the punishment(penance) that God allows us to receive/do.

Aww man, I just tried to find the Bible verse, can't remember where it is, it's in Psalm 100's somewhere. It tells about how God remembers that we're simply made of dust and how he shows us so much mercy. I hope that helps you feel better about His forgiveness.

The popular book "Purpose Given Life" is really worth buying. It changed the way I viewed God and my sister was saved as a result of reading it.

Not pertaining to your question, but I've had tears in my eyes reading all of these athiests posts, not for their sake, but for God's. He is so deserving of our worship, praise, and love.

No offense to non-Catholic, I used to be Baptist myself, but when I converted I realized that Catholics don't concentrate on "not going to hell" or even mention much about it like protestants do. Catholics simply concentrate on worshipping, praising and loving Him, not on not going to hell.

If you're a parent/aunt/uncle, think about how much you love that child and would do absolutely anything to protect them and even scare them sometimes to keep them on the right path. Do you not know that God's love is not even stronger than that? And he will try his best to keep us in the right direction. And with all that love He has for us, do you actually think he let us burn if he's the one who created us? Think about how much he MUST love us. He didn't just put us here and say, "Okay, you're on your own" He knows that we need his guidance and forgiveness.

Many members of mankind will go to hell, (Which is just a grave) And not a place of eternal punishment. Where we will wait for the 1st resurrection... And you better hope that you are in the 1st Resurrection. For those that are raised in the 2nd Resurrection will fill the lake of fire with Satan slapping those flames away from your body and really learn what hot really means.. And there are those that have are ready been judged by God and they will go directly to the pit of flames.....................

God sends NO ONE to hell. He gives man free choice. Hell was created for the devil and the angels that rebelled against Him. The word says He had to enlarge it for those who rebelled and chose to go their. Accept Christ as Lord by asking God to forgive you of your sins and ask Jesus to come into your life. Go to a bible based church. Read His word . And Pray

God does love us but How do you think He feels loving a person who doesn't even believe He's real or loving a person that hates Him. I think He has a right to do whatever He wants with the souls that don't belong to Him.. with the people that never took the time to know Him. Come on humans... we've got to take responsibility for ourselves. We aren't children, we are adults, we must be accountable for our actions or lack thereof. I don't feel sorry for peopel who reject God and I wouldn't feel sorry for myself if I went to hell>>> my choices have nothing to do with how much or how little God loves me. He can love us all we want but if we don't know Him... what good was His love to us anyway b/c all we do as human beings is spit on Him and call Him names.

God doesnt send anybody to Hell, people go on their own will.
The laws He put into place are like barriers to keep us out of hell. But it's not His fault if humans choose to step over them and then blame Him when something goes wrong.

but yes we will go to hell for committing things He thinks is a sin.
Just like you will go to jail if you commit a crime your city or town thinks is a crime.

He does love us, and He really wants us to go to Heaven, but if we can't even ask Him for forgiveness, then, sadly, we do deserve to go to Hell. I mean, why should someone who doesn't love God enough to follow Him go to Heaven, where his only purpose there is to love God?

He won't send anyone to Hell because he makes mistakes
God is love, and He showed his love through Jesus Christ who lift up on his cross all our sin
so WHY TO GO TO HELL

Going to Hell its only for persons who refuse God's love.
who refuse to except Jesus as their saviour

God knows you will sin. You are, after all, human and prone to the temptations of Satan. The question is not, "Have I sinned?" The question is "Have I asked forgiveness for my sin?"
