I am looking to buy one for my dorm room so nothing large or fancy, but I'd still like for it to be accurate. Digital would be nice too. What sort do you own and where did you purchase it from?

I own a Tanita B533 Innerscan. It's digital and it also analyses your body composition, which is essential to know (unless you want to lose any kind of weight, you should target fat loss not "any weight" loss).

I purchased it on Amazon.com

I have a dial one, which I have found to be more accurate. It's easier to test and adjust. The ones that supposedly measure body fat aren't that accurate, just FYI. I had the Tanita one too for awhile, but I'd get on it and get back on it and gain 5 pounds in a matter of seconds. Once I was 4% bodyfat and the next day I was 30. I wasn't impressed by it.

I have a tanita innerscan, and it works really good it measures your body fat through your feet on these metal pads. 15% for me i think 10 to 25 is ok fat
