We eat it as a meal....if you need some protein...throw in some chopped up hot dogs, or cubed ham...heck , even some lentils in the sauce will do as a meat substitute!

If you eat it for dinner it's a meal, if you have a main course and serve macaroni and cheese on the side, it's a side dish. Simple!

It can be either. As a main dish, you might want to serve a vegetable, a salad or both with it. As a side, it can substitute for potatoes or rice. Macaroni and cheese has long been a comfort food of my childhood, and I still love it today.

When I was in the service my wife and I lived off base. She was very good at paying the bills and planning things and so she's always done it. But there were times back then when we went from pot roast, potatoes, and carrots in the pressure cooker (at the first of the month) to Macaroni and Cheese at the end of the month.

Both. If you add ham, hotdogs, or some other type of meat to the dish it becomes more of a complete meal. But this dish can serve as a meal without meat also.

It relies upon... Mac and Cheese is in many situations a edge dish to me with the aid of fact i can not consume sufficient of it to make it a meal. in case you upload stuff to it (like hen and broccoli) then it turns right into a meal.

Meal, if you add cubed Spam & frozen mixed veggies when the macaroni is almost all the way cooked - provided you're using boxed mac & cheese.

It can be both...by itself...it would normally be considered a side dish. However if you add some meat and veggies it becomes a meal.
