Yes they are and there are some people who are using them sincerely, but there are also a lot of fakes. Stay away from anyone who claims you NEED any of these gifts to be saved. Thats not true at all. Thats a sign of someone who wants you to think they're super spiritual and closer to God than you.

Ask a question like that and you are opening a BIG can of worms. It depends on what you call "gifts". For instance the gift of prophesy is not predicting things per se, its preaching. Every Christian has the gift of prophecy. Now the gift of tongues, healings, etc., in my opinion was reserved striclty for the Apostles, and if you study scripture, Peter was always present when these gifts were recorded. This is because the signs were meant for the Jews. The Bible is all we need to practice our faith, and to lead others to saving faith.Thanks.

You will get a wide variety of answers here because spiritual gifts is not a Bible doctrine. When I was a young man we never heard of such a thing, it has only come in in the last 30-40 years. Did you know the phrase "Spiritual gifts" does not exist anywhere in the Bible. It has been written in with the last versions of the Bible mostly the NASB and the NIV who have both added the term 17 times into the Bible. Now everyone has hopped on to the "bandwagon" and are running around looking for their spiritual gifts, and there are all kinds of "Bible teachers" there to feed their gullibility.

Oh yes they are alive and very active! I think that the reason we do not see more of them in operation here in the U.S is because we have become comfortable with the idea that we have several options out there. You don't see that in third world countries where their backs are against the wall. They have to rely on GOD only because they don't have any other options.
It seems that our prosperity is also our curse in some ways.
It is important to note that there is a difference between the Gifts of the Spirit and the Fruit of the Spirit.

Of course, the gifts of the spirit are alive. Isn't all religion about a live spirit, not a dead one?

Good luck on that. The miraclous gifts have ceased. No more miracles today. 1 Corinthians chapter 13 predicted they would cease and according to Paul love is more important anyway.
