Take off your shoes when you get to security. They will check your ID and boarding pass and then you put everything on the conveyor belt and walk through the metal detector. Sometimes they will search your bag if the x-ray wasn't clear, but usually you just get your stuff and put your shoes back on.

Since it's your first time you will probably have butterflies in your stomache the whole time, I did. But it's really fine, all that happens is you feel a bit of pressure going up and it's a bit noisy but it will quiet down when you are in the air and if you feel turbulence during your flight don't freak out okay this happens. You can watch t.v. or listen to music during your flight and you get free snacks and drinks!!!! It's great, but the bathrooms are very small which is very uncomfortable so you should use the bathroom at the airport before you get on your plane, if you are a very motion sick person then you should have a barf bag ready and take some pills at the beginning of the flight! When you are landing you feel pressure and a bit of pain in your ears, afterward you will feel like your ears are clogged but that will go away in at least a day!!!! Don't stress about it, just enjoy your flight!!!!

Once you land and the doors open make sure you have all of your stuff, you then leave the plane and go to baggage claim, look for your flight number on the screen on top of one of the conveyor belts and that is where you will find your luggage!!!!

Good Luck :)

It's not a big deal. Just take off your shoes as you approach security. They will check your ID and boarding pass, then ask you if you have a camera or film in your bag and then you put everything on the conveyor belt and walk through the metal detector. Ocassionally they will search your bag if the x-ray picture wasn't clear, but usually you can just gather your stuff and put your shoes back on.

Next you need to find your gate. Most airports have clear signs. When it is time to board they will seat first class, disabled and unaccompanied minor passengers first. After that they seat everyone else in groups. they'll announce something like "now boarding rows 25-30". When they announce your row than you get in line by your gate. They will check your boarding pass at the gate and then let you board the plane.

Once the plane is all the way in the air, the flight attendants will offer drinks and whatever food is being served. Bring some cash if you are on a meal flight since most airlines now charge for meals.

When you land you will be free to go once the door is open. Just make sure you have all of your stuff and go through the tunnel to the terminal and go to the baggage area to get any checked bags.

I love watching the city buildings grow smaller and smaller as we fly away during take off... You can expect some turbulance which will cause the plane to shake, and that could be just a little scary, but stay calm... It happens all the time, and it's not dangerous... It doesn't mean the plane is going down... It just means your flying through clouds (I think that's what causes it)... Oh well, have a safe trip.

Oh, and your ears will pop a lot.. That's kind of annoying. Tell the flight attendance or the airline company that you've never flown before, and I'm sure they will do everything they can to make you comfortable..

well, first when you go up in the air for the first time the plane tilts back & you feel like you are falling, but you are in the chair & you have a seat belt so you wont
your ears will probably pop, so i suggest chewing gum that definately helps. then the plane will be pretty steady through the flight, you might hit a couple of bumps which will just bump the plane a little bit, but it isnt a big deal.
when you land you lean more foward & i suggest chewing gum again, ears pop. once you are on the ground, you land with like a thud. it feels good though.

Have fun, i luv flying :)

Yes i hAVE Been On Plane trips that were longer then 30 hours. No reason to worry. All you have to expect is that it may be a little rocky. If you are really scared i reccomend that you sleep as soon as you get on. If you do that you will wake up and say DAMN done allready LOL. Nothing to be scared about unles the weather starts to get really bad. They wouldn't fly if weather conditions are bad though. It's nice to look out the window to see the clouds and city lights. You can't use a camera to take a picture. The flight attendant will tell you not to because the flash distracts the pilot. You get free booze! And food! The movies are usually boring and the radio stations that they have suck. Bring some reading matterial and your own music.

here's some advice,

If you wear contact lenses - take them out as they can get really sore and dry in the air

Enjoy the food - with the table folded down and the person in front of you having their seat reclined, you end up gripping food with your shortened limbs like a T-rex or Krang from Ninja Turtles.

When your ears pop, if gum doesn't equalise, wiggle your jaw to one side, hold your nose and blow gently and then repeat with your jaw to the other side - it works - thank god - I used to have blocked ears for half a day before this advice!!!

Ask for some kids toys - why not!

Wear the funky socks they give you for night travel - do it in the name of fashion.

Watch the flight screen with the picture of the plane on it and how much further until your destination - it becomes quite addictive.

and, most importantly, unless you are in an extreme hurry, remain seated when the seatbelt sign goes off when you land as you will see everyone stands and gets very impatient as they can't get off until the plane has fully docked with the airport tunnel

Enjoy flying - its loads of fun!

you'll hear lots of banging noises as you wait at the gate inside the plane...they are just loading the plane with baggage and other cargo..then you will hear the engines start to back you out of the gate area and take you to the runway...as the plane gets ready to take off you will hear the engines get real loud and then you will start to move down the runway faster and faster..there may be a few bumps and a little turbulence as you take off but it will even out the higher you go and then it should be smooth flying...when you get ready to land you will hear a loud thump noise that will be the landing gear coming down...and when the plane lands you will hear and fieel a loud thump as it lands on the runway and then it will break hard to start slowing down...be prepared for that...then you will taxi to your gate and get off..hope this helps you to relax...take something to snack on and read
HAPPY FLYING YOU WILL LOVE IT

take some chewing gum to chew as you take off and land so your ears won't pop from the changing pressure in the cabin

to tell you the truth, it's mostly boring. once you get through security, buy some water because it is also dehydrating. you'll be all right. just pack as simple as possible, don't take anything on the plane that you don't need, keep your tickets and i.d. handy, and perhaps take some dramamine ahead of time (some folks get a kind of motion sickness from flying) or bring along some gum to help you equalize your ears during flight (might have to buy it after security as well). just have fun with it.

i ahve been on them a lot and after some time, u actually like them. make sure to keep gum for landing, take off, and during the flight. otherwise ur ears may pop. also make sure to take a neck rest or pillow just in case its a long flight or u get tired. i also recomend that you take some stuff to stay intertained. such as ipod, mags or books, handheld game system. make sure NOT to use wireless devices on a plane! that messes up the radar system. also just remember to calm ddown and chill. being nervous can sometimes get u a little tense. just take your time and enjoy the ride! hope this helped! :)
