Right after it finishes eating or drinking put them in the litter box. It helps to start them off without a lid. Take its paws and scratch in the litter a couple of times and if the kitten jumps out just place it back in the box. Some Will catch on sooner than others. If the kitten poops outside of his box, pick it up(poop) and put it in the litter box. Sometimes it helps to keep the kitten in one room until it uses its litter box on its own.

You shouldn't need to do anything but show it where the litter is. If it's not using the litter, you might need a shallower box or need to move it somewhere where the kitten is used to being (if it tends to stay in one room, you might need to put the litter in there at least at first).

I raised a litter of kittens and they all were using the litter box before they were weaned. It's an instinct. If you have other areas the cat can dig, they might go there instead, so keep clothes off the floor etc. so it doesn't have other options.

Kittens should automatically know how to use a litter box.
Take your kitty and show it where the box is....put the kitten in the box a couple of times and it should know what to do.

You may have to try different kinds of litter and see which one your cat likes the best. Cats do NOT like a dirty box so make sure you keep it clean daily.

I have found that my cat likes the Fresh Steps cat litter the best and it keeps the box from any odors.

When my cats was really little i kept in one room most of the time. If you stick the cat in the litter box, it's natural insticnt is to go somewhere they can bury their mess. The kitten will get the hang of it! My vet also mentioned any healthy cat will know what to do. I the cat has problems with not making it to the litter box you may want to mention it to your vet.

-good luck!

Leave them in an enclosed room with the litter box after they eat. If for some reaon they don't go in the box, scoop up the poo and put it in the litter box yourself. They'll catch on eventually.

I used to take my kittens, put them in the litter box and take their paw and make a scratching/digging movemen so they kow thats what theyre supposed to do. If u see him scratching around or looking like he needs to go then always pick him up and put him in his litter box. He should larn pretty quickly!

well as soon as you get the kitten(or if you have just ignore that statement) take the kitten to the litterbox which should have a place that it will always be kept in... and isn't in a lot of heavy traffic with people(cats like their privacy)...and as soon as you get the kitten there put the kitten inside of the litterbox...and keep doing that for a while until you see the kitten has used it...

its something that they should instinctively know..some need more push than others, but they will do it..just push them towards that way.
