After having a few mixed drinks at a friends house party, and eating some of his homemade salsa, my stomach started to turn and couldnt handle it. I rushed to the bathroom as quickly as possible and it completely went through me instantly. After I was finished going the bathroom, the odor quickly went through the entire house, and all the guests were complaining, but had no idea who the culprit was. Soon everyone was dying to know and started asking everyone who did it for the rest of the night, but when I was asked, I said nothing because I was embarressed. I ruined my friends party and I felt bad, should I have come clean and said it was me to end the issue?

It wasn't your fault. The host should have provided a can of air freshener in the guest bathroom for use in cases such as yours.
He/she should have also discretely spray air freshener in various parts of the house as the evening progresses to keep the air smelling good whether you've had that experience in the bathroom or not. A house packed with people would not smell good anyway after a few hours of eating, drinking and perspiring.
Allowing a witch-hunt to take place in his own party regarding who originated the smell in the bathroom is another one of the host's faux-pas. He should have just let everyone off the hook by saying there was a skunk in the yard earlier that had let in the odor and then quickly deodorizing his house with air-freshener or lighting a few aromatic candles which he should have had around in the first place.
Don't blame yourself. Your friend, the host, was at fault.

I have heard this same issue for years. This is another reason that I never eat any Mexican food. If it doesn't agree with you, don't go there. If you live on this type of food, than you know that you can handle it.
It is better to go hungry than to be embarrassed like this. You feel that you ruined the party, but you really didn't. The food ruined your stomach, which ruined the party for you. Too bad they didn't have a fan and room freshener. They can't blame you for being human.
Eat what you know and stay healthy this year!

Why embarrass yourself further by admitting it was you? This was something you couldn't help, and you didn't do anything deliberately. Just keep them guessing, and don't feel guilty about it.
Back in my smoking days, I found that a lighted cigarette was the ultimate deodorant to quell bathroom odors. Now, of course, no one is allowed to smoke any place, or in anyone's home. I now carry a small spray container of room deodorizer in my purse for just such emergencies, although I've never had to use it yet. A guy could carry one in his pocket -- they're small and don't take up space or reveal their presence by a bulge. Then if this happens again, you just give a couple of sprays. It kills or covers up the smell, and no one will ever know.

If it was at your friends house then why should you be embrassed? Just pull her aside and tell her you did, and ask her if she can do anything about it, like light a match or get some air freshening stuff. I wouldn't worry about it at all. Everyone uses the restroom, and they did it before, and if not they will. So don't worry, and relax. So if it happens again you can take all the advice from us and it won't be as bad. Just forget it and move on, and remember what to do next time! Good luck!

I believe that:
1) They should have served decent drinks and food to not cause an upset stomach for starters:
2) They should have put some air freshener in the toilet for the guests to use
3) You should have opened the toilet window
4) They should not have been impolite enough to ask who did the stinky poops all night in the hope of embarassing one of the guests.

What you should have done was turn the fan on or open the window. If the bathroom had neither, then it was your friends fault for serving bad salsa.
Sounds like your "contribution" livened up the party, because it must have been boring if that distracted them the rest of the night.

Next time you go to a party, keep a mini pack of matches in your pocket. Light a match in the bathroom when you're done. Matches make the smell go away, and they're easy to use and tote around.
