i download lime wire now what?

now go to options and choose the folder that u will save on it the downloaded files
then control the sharing by allowing it preventing other computers from downloading any files from ur computer
then its ready for u
make a search for any song or movie u want
then u will find it and download it

I'm sorry to say, they're right. Limewire is not what you want running on your pc. I would suggest a "lighter" program such as eDonkey/Overnet or WinMX. If you do insist on using Limewire, make absolutely sure of a few things before downloading files:
1) The file size is correct
2) The file type is correct
3) More than a few users are sharing the file (unless it is an old school song for example, but still double check)
4) There is no search that will yield thousands of results. If you see users in the 70s, 80s, 90, and more for every listing - close search and repeat with different terms or different word order.
5) Don't ever click on a download with parentheses containing your search terms.

There's some more things you will have to look out for, but those are the main "red flags". And, as always, NEVER run a p2p program without a solid firewall and anti-virus running. Here's what I use:

one make sure it isnt fire walled search music by clicking the music button and typing in the name limewire is not bad for your computer unless you are dumb and install a virus by downloading software and not scanning it for viruses first never download an exe. when you search alot of hits will come up choose one with good quality ie a larger file size etc the little numbers on the left is the amount of sources the file has on the far right is what type of connection choose the file with the most sources usualy sometimes one with less sources will be faster for some reason limewire hasnt got me in trouble yet been using it for 3 years though shareazza has just dont be downloading music all the time and dont download to manny at once or alot over a long period of time and you should be ok

First of all, the idiots that say "downloading songs is wrong and your a bad person" are more than likely hypocrites anyway....

There are tabs on the upper left that you can choose from depending on what you want to search for. Click on search, and take your pick from the search results on the right. Double click on one and download away.

Don't listen to the whiners, everyone downloads music, and the RIAA won't come looking for you unless they know your selling pirated music, or distributing it in large quantities.

Go download crazy, who cares anyway? It costs like 10 cents to actually make a cd, and then they sell the **** for 18 bucks? Riiiiiight.

Oh, BTW, don't download any porn because it's probably kiddie porn, and that's just wrong.

well what are you using lime wire for? your ipod/mp3 etc... if so you need to also have itunes then you go under search on 'lime wire'' type in what your looking for and you will see all the songs different versions etc..... and if you want to download hit it on the bottom to download.. then you have to drag it right click your mouse after the song has been downloaded and drag it to itunes..

Lime wire don't make your computer freeze or slow.It don't harm your computer. My advise is search your music and download it when lime wire comes on.... Enjoy

Click on the green icon on your desktop

give it a second to open up

it will give you a couple of tipe
close them out

to the left of the screen you can enter name of artist, song, album, etc.

Warning: Do NOT download software or programs. They are loaded with Viruses. The songs aren't though. Be sure if you go to download a song that there are more then one users that have the song. Good Luck. E-mail me if you need any more info.

Download Limewire Pro. It's the pay version but you can get it for free using Limewire. It'll let you download MP3s much faster.

click on the icon which looks like a green wheel.
allow it to load and you should get a box asking to purchase full product......presume you will click "later"

top left hand side click search and a search box appears.

type in what you want to search, click search.

away you go.

on left hand side use all types to get all results and use filters down that side to narrow down results

double click on file you want to download.. have a play around its a pce of pi55

now you can listen and download movies,songs,imagies,and douments from the search tab at the top left,also you can creat a list of music that you can save and listen to,i have the same program and i love it and use it all the time for my music mostly.
