You can be a Buddha, that's most distinguishing character from all other religions (that I know).
Main principle is the four noble truth, which says all living beings are suffered (by not realizing the truth you are a Buddha), and there's many different ways train you to enlighten.
Positive - you can live a happy life with meditation!!!
Negative - not really many people got enlightened so far.. I think, maybe few thousands worldwide, I guess

Buddhism has no god, ony Buddha, an ancient philospher.

In Buddhism, we are to constantly be reborn due to a process called Karma, which means that u get ur just desserts. If led an evil past life, this life will go badly. If you were good it will go well. They believe that after a sinless enlightened life, you may go to Nirvana (heaven).

Buddhists cherish tolerance, pacifism, self control, and the environment

Okay, we believe that all suffering arises because of attachment to worldly things. No worldly things are eternal, they change and fade, and when we develope an attachment to them, we suffer. It doesn't matter if the attachment is positive(love) or negative(hate), this preference breeds pain. Therfore, Buddhists try to end suffering by cutting the tethers that tie us to the material and hold us in the samsara (plain of existance). We do this by following the Noble Eight-fold path:

Right Views
Right Resolve
Right Speech
Right Behaviour
Right Occupation
Right Effort
Right Contemplation
Right Meditation

When we have completely cut of all of our attachments to worldly things we enter the deathless state. This does not mean that you cannot die, it is metaphorical. This moment is known as Nirvana, which translates as "Blowing out the candle". Most of us believe in reincarnation. Buddha was not a god, he was a man, and he was not fat.

Positive and negative depends on your perception, I cannot define it for you...

“Never have anything to do with likes and dislikes. The absence of what one likes is painful, as is the presence of what one dislikes. Therefore don't take a liking to anything. To lose what one likes is hard, but there are no bonds for those who have no likes and dislikes. From preference arises sorrow, from preference arises fear, but he who is freed from preference has no sorrow and certainly no fear”
