If apparently Jesus was God, and man was made in his form, would that not mean everyone of his skin colour is superior to everyone else? Isn't that just evil? I don't believe Jesus was God or son of God, Jesus was a prophet. That makes more sense to me, especially since he did not once say that he is the son of God, or God.

First of all I'm not showing any disrespect to the old testament, but the new testament is just rubbish. It's an edited version. How dare you edit what was sent down to you?
And how can you say you understand Islam more than me if you are not muslim. If you did, you would definately be muslim. TRUST me.

Big pappa: Apparently the actual right version of the bible is kept in ethiopia and isn't shown to anyone or something, so there's not loads of copies of it. And the Quran has not been changed and you can not say it is a fact that it has.

What a crazy thing to say, you just assumed that.
"Isn't that just evil?"
Of course it is, but you made it up. Jesus loved everyone that came to him (male and female, Jew and non-Jew).
As to the prophet thing, well, Christians have always held Him to be God. Whether you like it or not. Muslims will continue to differ on this point. They need more proof than is presented and when it is presented effectively they throw out that piece of scripture (such as the Gospel of John and Paul's epistles).
You propose that I am a liar, but do not even seek to understand me, but I understand Islam, maybe better than you.

I need you to recognize that you prupose that the New Testament is edited. However, scientists find that it is likely that same as it has always been. Why? Well, there are thousands of copies that are very old (~200AD) from all over the world. In this way, we see that its books where distritbuted quickly and that is would have been impossible to change it without history noticing. They trace back to ~30-110AD and
You also ignore the fact that I could say that the Qu'ran is Othman's interpretation. Espcially because people have various copies of the Qu'rans that he tried to burn. Assuming that his was the correct one, or choosing it because he knew it was. This was done about 150 years after Mohammad died. It is a fact.
I could suppose, in this way, that the Bible is therefore more likely original than the Qu'ran. Please don't give me the disrespect again of just assuming the New Testament was "edited" just because someone with a point to prove said it was.
And, if you didn't know this then they -might- have to admit that I know more about Islam than you.
And, why would I (just) -trust you- when you have put a lie right in your details?

Excuse me, but I quite disagree with you.
Matthew 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, You are Christ, the Son of the living God,
Mark 1:1 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God
This is when Mary allows and gives permission for herself to give birth to Jesus:
Luke 1:35 And the angel answered and said to her, The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore also the holy thing which is born will be called the Son of God.
Jesus is the Son of God. There's the Triune God, the Father, Son, and Spirit. The three together are somehow one-anything is possible with God. And man was made in the image of God, not Jesus. This may be a hard concept to understand, though. Anyways, we were made in His image, and skin colour really doesn't have a lot to do with it. I mean, humans are alike, right? But we don't look exactly alike. My point is, we don't look exactly like God, however, similar.
Hope that helped!
In Christ,
Melodie

Hello
If you look at Proverbs chapter 8 verses 8-21 you will se ethat Jesus was God's first creation and then He and God made the universe, all of the other angels, earth etc. Another scripture to confirm this is 1 Colliassians 1:15. Also in the begining if the Bible it says lets make man in OUR image. Jesus is known as the master worker in the Bible. Hope I helped a little friend.

Jesus was not God because God was before all men and women. Jesus was a man that lived on Earth that helped spread God's word. God chose Jesus to do this (messenger). God created (somehow) men and women together alike. we were all made with our soul mates at the beginning of God's time, and we have been reincarnating for a long time in order to learn for God. Why I don't know but I think Sylvia Browne's way of thinking makes the most sense to me. Except for the one trying question that can never be answered by ANY religion....who made God???

Wait a minute>>> the 'americanized Jesus' is white but the real Jesus was born in the middle east which means his skin was fairly dark. When the scripture talks about 'man being made in God image'... it doesn't say that in a literal text. We don't have to look like Him in order to be called 'children of God'. If you read the whole NT... you'll pick up that Jesus does admit to be the Son of God.

I believe its in the Gospels in the first testament I think It was Matthew or John. Jesus said if you seen me you seen the father and also the bible says I believe in John Jesus said I am the light in the true light I was always here. And read the Relations. Jesus said I am the omega and alpha the beginning and the end. There are so many verse Jesus said. And in 1 Tim too. You really need to read the New Testament, you will change your mind.

One must remember that to be "made in the image of" is not the same as "exactly". God loves everyone equally.
Next, if you believe that Christ never said he was the "Son of God", then you need to read the bible a little close. It is in there multiple times...just not word per word. I don't want to put anyone down or argue, this is just what I've found and seen.

Jesus was said to be the son of God, NOT God so man would never be made in his form, there is no proof that Jesus was the son of God, but there is proof that someone around that time did some fantastic things which were called miracles, and there is proof of that.

I do not know the source that said God was made in the image of God. However, Quraan mentions that God said to the angels that I shall create a vice regent on earth, saying " We have indeed created man in the best of form.." (that is with a will and the purest and best nature of all creations but when he uses his quality wrongly, We abase him to the lowest of the low.
As far as Jesus (pbuh) is concerned, Muslim believe him as a Prophet in human form and not the Son fo God and no partner in divinity of God at all.
He was the Savior of those who followed his teaching and acted upon it and lived by his teaching.
Here is an interesing website as to how Jesus became God after years of being considered a messenger in human form like other prophets:
http://essenes.net/CouncilOfNicea.html#The%20Doctrine%20of%20Arius
The additional comments added by the asker of the question are not dignified. Prophet Yunis (Jona) was punished for cursing the people of the city for not accepting his message after teaching them for such a long time. God punished him and forgave him after his repentence. Allah told Jona (Yunis pbuh ) that your job is to convey the message and the rest is up to Me.

Our modern-day view of God is created in Man's image. But not the God that truly exists, outside of what we believe or percieve. He is who He is and our perceptions don't change that.
Now, to answer your question, God made mankind in His image, but not any particular race of man. The varying amounts of melanin--as someone else astutely pointed out--don't matter.
And as for Jesus never saying He was God....he called Himself the Son of Man, which is an allusion to the prophecy in the book of Daniel, chapter 7, verses 13-14 (click on this link)
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Daniel%207:13-14;&version=31;
In the book of John, Jesus said "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man comes to the Father but by Me."
When the priests asked Jesus if He was God, He answered, saying, "I AM". That is the name by which God has called himself for millenia.
Jesus made the claim that He was God over and over again, and he proved it when He conquered sin and took victory over death itself when He rose from the dead three days after He was crucified, taking on Himself the punishment for our wrongdoing.
