Ok, I am 17 years old with my mom's old '94 Nissan Sentra. I will be leaving for college in August and my current car keeps breaking down constantly. I need a dealership that will finance a 17 year old with probably no credit. Also that is near Houston, Tx.

No one will finance a 17 year old because you need to be 18 to legally enter in to a contract.

Even if you were 18, you'd need a large downpayment (50%) and proof of employment because most lenders consider you a high credit risk because of your age and lack of credit.

Ask mom to finance or buy another car for you. Then you can pay her back working part time. Also when you go to college, sign up for a few credit cards to build credit. But only use it sparingly (like to pay for books and gas) because if you don't you'll end up thousands in the hole like most college students.

No dealer can finance a 17 year old as you have to be 18 to even sign a contract. As for where to find a good used car, go to Carmax in the Houston area. You may pay more for the car than elsewhere, however they guarantee what they sell and in my opinion do the best job in the industry at selling a quality product

You will have to be 18 with a credit history to get financing. But you might check at CarMax to find a good used car.

Their corporate office are her in Richmond, VA. Know somebody who works there and any vehicle that comes in - they inspect and replace any changes to equipment back to the manufacturer's equipment.

Some independent dealers also do good jobs of inspecting and providing a warranty, but I do not know of any that might be in your area.

first off no dealer is going to finance a 17 yr with no credit...the best to start looking for a is going online, searching and researching, and another is go to dealerships in your area and check out their used cars online,
you will also need a co-signer
